When Aarey Milk Colony was formed with help of New Zealand in then Bombay City it was outside city limits. To visit the dairy those days was a novelty. But now people visit Aarey colony for morning walks, ride boats with family and friends, and visit a wonderful site named Chota Kashmir meaning Mini Kashmir. In 1960's to 80's it was a popular place... It is rightly said that Aarey Milk colony (or jungle) is the only surviving green zone of Mumbai, which is contiguous to National park. After taking a turn from western express highway (where probably be the world's worst traffic snarl is encountered), one enters into a complete different world. It is green all around and the structures nicely melt into... More

Trees, birds and Calm. Pristine part of Mumbai still preserved in all its beauty. Doesnt feel like Mumbai. More like a jungle through which you are doing a safari

IT is like a reserved area in the middle of concrete Jungles. There was previously toll to travel on this road however lately it has been removed. Ideal for morning walks and strolls. Travelling by road on aarey road is just like sitting in a roller coaster. Most pathetic roads of mumbai can be seen inside this beautiful place- though... More

Aarey milk colony is the only green scenic view in mumbai. Ideal for long walks inside the narrow roads. But road conditions are very bad. Scenic view inside the colony is amazing. Boating facility near OP garden is available on select days. Picnic point near powai check naka is for small children for a half day outing.

This place is worth a visit to see the small greenery village-life. Temperature is awesome here. Though the roads are full of pot holes.. its amazing to see the the surroundings in the city. This place is not far from Powai. You can easily take auto rickshaw and take a look aroud. There is one toll-naka (unofficial) where they take... More

I only visited the Arrey (Aarey) Milk Colony because my husband was working nearby in the Royal Palms area. I'm glad I stumbled across it though. It was fascinating to see rural life in the middle of this mega-city. I walked around the actual milk colony farms and the fields, livestock, and streams give you a sense of what the... More
