The castle is beautiful and the visited areas are in great conservation condition but the tour is only in Dutch (English guide sheets) and you only visit some areas and not the complete castle.

We went to the Country and Christmas Fair on the grounds of the castle. The castle is absolutely unique and the grounds are immaculate. The christmas market is well organised with different stalls spread out in the park of the castle. I particularly liked the quality of the products the stalls offered: no junk but quality foods and home decorations... More

The base portion of this castle was built in the 1200's, then rebuilt after the owner married a family with a lot of money and they decided to rebuild the castle. The tour in Dutch (there is other language translation sheets available) is mostly of the kitchens, the greeting rooms and children's dining room. The remainder of the castle is... More

This was an outstanding half-day trip, so close to Amsterdam. The castle itself and its gardens are beautiful and it is so nice to walk, relax and imagine how it would be to be so rich.. Do not miss the guided tour inside the castle. It's certainly worth the cost. Excellent value, definitely worth a visit.

After so many great reports about a must see to visit. It was very over priced and really not worth the money paid. 16 Euro per person for the tour and walk in the gardens. Tour was of the many kitchens and a couple of dining rooms. Tour guide spoke entirely in Dutch with so many other nationalities all handed... More

This castle, the biggest in Netherlands, looks like the ones we see in the fairytale books. There are only guided visits to the interior and, if you are a lucky person, the tour will be in english (otherwise, try to learn dutch). It´s a pitty that you are not allowed to see most of it, only the kitchens and some living... More

This does not seem to be a very well known castle, even among the Dutch, but wat a gem it is! Beautiful castle and surrounding buildings & gardens. You could spend quite a few hours wandering around and admiring the various parts of castle and grounds. A tour through the castle is also a must!

We took a special tour this week which concentrated more on the kitchens and behind the scenes activity of the castle. Very interesting. The castle is beautiful from the outside and very impressive inside with the built in modern features. The below tour took us through the kitchens and serving areas, up through the dining hall and main rooms. The... More
