Cool if you take the children's trip (DUTCH)

Cool if you take the children's trip that is in Dutch. It's hilarious. The garden is also nice for walks.

What an amazing place and fantastic gardens to wander around too. We didn't do the guided tour (we had 3 young children with us) but if we go back and have the time we'll certainly do that as would have liked to find out more about the history of the place. Also, the café was very good, good quality service... More

De Haar Castle Utrecht (in Dutch: Kasteel de Haar) has a rich history and a link to dancing and dining with the rich and famous. Currently the castle is owned by a foundation for its preservation and display to the general public. The foundation is run with numerous volunteers (like the castle guides that tour groups through the castle day... More

My wife found this castle on line, and I honestly had low expectations of "just another historic site". But what a great way to spend the day. The tour itself is great. LOTS of history, and an intriguing narrative about the castle, complete with a "forbidden love" story involving the Rothschild family. The property outside the castle is huge and... More

This is a truly amazing story about a couple (yes very rich) building a castle in the early 1900's. It took 20 years to complete it and apparently money was no object. Baron van Zuylen and Ms. Rothschild build their dream in the middle of Holland and only stayed there a couple of weeks a year. In the tour you... More

If you are not from Europe, this castle is a must visit. If you are from Europe, this could still be worth a visit, depending on how much you enjoy seeing castles. This one is fairly unique as it is conserved really well and it has a huge park around it. The park is perfect for a picnic and there... More

Every year my sister and I go to the Christmasfair, which is really great. Besides we love the bark and surroundings. We joined several tours in the castle. Every year there is a different theme and new things to find out. Having visited many castles through Europe, this one is really unique and well worth visiting. Curious? Go and find... More

Well kept, lovely grounds, relaxing. Go for a long walk and explore all the small paths on the map they give you at the entrance. Then go visit the Castle :)

We visited this castle on the weekend. While we loved the grounds and walking around to admire the beautiful green areas and paths, we didn't enjoy the castle tour at all. When we paid 50 euros for 2 adults and 2 kids, the staff didn't warn us that the tour was spoken in Dutch only, for the entire hour. At... More
