This is one of my favorite beaches. Hard to get to but worth the drive. I have only ever seen one other person on the beach when I have been there and he was a local fisherman.

The road to Captain's Bay was a little treacherous and you definitely need 4-wheel drive for certain stretches, but the journey is well worth it. We had this beautiful beach to ourselves for the day. The road to Captain's Bay is impossible for normal cars, and challenging for 4x4s. And it is now overlooked by a gigantic villa which definitely thinks it has the beach to itself (but it is unfinished, so who knows?)

My husband and I spent the last two weeks of March 2003 in Anguilla. This was our first visit there. At first, we thought we made a huge mistake. The island itself is not very pretty, but the beaches are ABSOLUTELY amazing. Captain's Bay was my favorite. This beach is on the northeast part of the island on the Atlantic... More
