A friend of mine recommended this tour, and i was not disapointed. Our guide, Jose, was really nice, and he knew alot of history and facts about the port wine district. I would recommend him as a guide if you want to do this tour. We got picked up from our hotel and after a 1,5 hour drive, with stories... More

We spent 3 days in the Douro Valley & could have spent more. The Quintas (vineyards), scenery, The river ... The wine & the food were all fabulous. We drove around all the roads even the narrow ones through the vineyards. Met some great people & many laughs. We stayed in casa da Rui in Tabuaco ... The most amazing... More

We, a family of 4, took this tour on 26th May. Our guide, Alex, was knowledgeable with good command of English, but arrived very late to pick us up. The time given to us was 8-8.30 am, but he arrived past 9 am; and that too after several calls by our hotel frontdesk. On arrival, he made lame, unconvincing excuses... More

We booked a small group tour through Viator (operated by CoolTour Oporto) for the Douro valley. Our guide (Peter) arrived at our accommodations in Porto right on time an we were soon underway. Overall our tour included 4 couples, all English speaking. Peter was accommodating, very knowledgeable, and fluent in English. Basically, the tour consists of a 90 minute ride... More

We recently stayed in the valley at Quinta Do Vallado. we took a boat trip from Pinhao on the Pipadouro which was fabulous and I highly recommend this if you visit the area. contrary to what a previous reviewer wrote, the area is full of places to eat and drink and the prices are far lower than in London or... My husband and I are currently visiting the Douro, we have found it beautiful incredible landscapes....breathtaking views etc etc... Be warned the Douro region is very pricey to eat and drink be prepared to pay for a 2 course meal with good wine between €60 and €90. We have found that most of prices are very similar in some places... More

I have been living in Europe for over a year and generally enjoy a good tour and have been on a number of them. This Douro Valley Small-Group Tour was undoubtedly the most enjoyable. The Viator tour consisted of my husband, three daughters (in their early twenties) and myself. We were picked up at our hotel by our two guides,... More

We chose Pipadouro for a river cruise because they have traditional boats historically used for transporting wine on this great river. Unfortunately, the day before our scheduled trip, the boat we were scheduled to ride on broke down and we couldn't alter our schedule. Cristina Malheiro Dias, Pipadouro's tireless connection worked magic and obtained a modest powerboat so we could enjoy... More

September 12, 2013 - My girlfriends and I spent a magical day in the Douro valley, one of our most memorable days from our recent travels that have included Tuscany, Provence and California. We boarded the charming and comfortable Pipadouro river boat in Pinhao, and headed downriver among spectacular views of the Douro river and the surrounding terraced hills covered... More

This was the trip of a lifetime. We started in Porto and travelled through the Douro. We stopped at Pousada's, that are hotels that are renovated castles, estates, monasteries, wineries, and more. We visited tasting rooms at wineries. We had fabulous foodie restaurant experiences. Wonderful sites and cities throughout this charming area. We spent over two weeks in the area... More
