Steinsdalsfossen waterfall is situated just outside the little village of Norheimsund in Hardangerfjord - one hour by car from Bergen. One of few waterfalls you actually can walk behind without getting wet. Recently the path along and behind the waterfall has been improved a lot. A rail has been put up, and there is built a platform where you can... More

Although Norway is full of water and waterfall, this one is specific! A huge quantity of water falls down from a rock. A nice trail leads you under the waterfall and one can enjoy staying under it. There is a nearby parking and toilets/bathrooms as well as little a restaurant with souvenirs.

We visited the waterfall one cold, snowy day in March and found that it was spectacular and very attractive in the snow. What made it for us was just standing back and watching the scale of the landscape with the water falling down the snow covered cliff with flakes of snow gently falling. There were some other visitors there at... More

This beautiful watewrfall on the outskirts of Bergan has been developed to allow you to walk right up and behind the water as it falls down the mountainside. When we visited in early September there had been very little rain ( unusual for this time of year in the Bergan area!) so the volume of water was not as heavy... More

Stopped here enroute to Bergen. Large parking and tourist centre next to waterfall less than 5 minutes walk away. You can walk to the base and behind the waterfall. But not as spectecular as some of the other nearby waterfalls located in the more forested areas such as latefossen.

The place is now less original than before, but the path to the fall is more secure and stable. Real bus parking and free toilets. The souvenir shop there is (or at least was) a bit cheaper than in other places.

Nice little stop on our visit around Hardanger fjorden. The walk up is easy and short. The area is beautiful. It has shops, café & restroom. It's free of charge to see the waterfall. It is also near a gas station.
