Lived in Iloilo half of my life but never had the chance to visit this place. A church that needs to be visited if you're into old churches. Beautiful architecture and the construction of the whole place is interesting. From ground up, all made from local materials. A must if in the vicinity to appreciate a piece of history.

This was just a side trip we had to Ilo-ilo. Thankfully we went and sought out this marvel of a church. All I knew about this was it was classified as a world heritage site by the UNESCO and that it was still south of our main destination Ilo-ilo. But it was well worth the trip. Our friend drove us... The facade of Miagao Church is definitely unique as we've seen other UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From the Iloilo Terminal Market (close to Robinsons Place), it costs 50PHP/person all the way to Maigao, but expect the 45-minute trip to take longer depending on how many stops the jeepney driver makes. It's beautiful to glimpse the waters of Panay Gulf along... More

Miagao is where my parents are from in the PI and every time I come to the PI I visit my relatives there . It's about 40KM south of Iloilo driving by the towns of Oton, Tigbuan, and Guimbal. Each with its own beautiful churches. Miagao church is breath-taking at first glance and dominates the town. The carvings on the... More

The facade is unique. I am proud to see one of the churches in the Philippines to be included as the UNESCO World Heritage site. I made a request to the driver of the van though we were one group travelling and requested also them to let me take a picture of this beautiful and interesting Catholic Church. Indeed it... More

I passed by Miagao Church over ten years ago on my way to the province of Antique but had no chance of going down and see the place..I vowed to myself that someday I will get that chance of viewing up close one unique Catholic church in the Philippines...Its uniqueness lies in its bas-relief depicting typical Filipino rustic images of...
