Must be the best pub/restaurant in the area.It is old and beamy with a great atmosphere. Nice people, good cooking and a choice of the restaurant with white table cloth etc or eat in the bar with a brasserie menu. Lots of very good fish. Maybe a touch more expensive than some nearby pubs doing food but well worth it.

My sister made a dinner reservation for Saturday August 29th. My fiancee and I were looking forward to the meal as my sister had spoken very highly about the restaurant's food. We arrived at about 6.30 for our reservation and received a very cold reception from the landlady. We ordered some cocktails to drink outside before dinner. The landlady wouldn't... More

We cannot comment on the food at this establishment as, in stark contrast to the times given on the website, the pub was not open on the afternoon of Wednesday 29th July even though the board outside stated food served all day! No apology received from the staff who claimed the board referred to Sunday opening hours!! Husband very disappointed... More

We haven't been here for many years but we were told how good the food is and they weren't wrong! Many places like to call themselves a 'gastropub' but the Chequers Inn at Well really is this, in fact you get more the feel of an intimate upmarket country restaurant than a pub when you walk in. The choice of... More

We visited the Chequers for an evening meal. The pub has a very good atmosphere with superb views from the rear garden. The menu ranges from simple fish and chips to full a la carte options. We opted for fish and chips and steak and chips, both dishes were excellent. The service was quick and friendly. Overall a very good... More

Set off the the beaten track, 3 miles from Odiham and Crondall and very close to the Georgian town of Farnham, this lovely restaurant offer the best of cuisine. A varied menu with the addition of a choice of fresh fish dishes. Skate with black butter and capers. Lobster and crayfish salad are just two of the choices. Take your... More

I've previously visited and reviewed the Cheuqers well. But I now can no longer recommend it. The service is poor (very unfriendly landlady). The food is variable (some of our party enjoyed their food, but my 2 fish course were both dry and over cooked). One drink arrived with an earring lurking at the bottom (yes, really!). No apology for... More

We heard this was a nice pub, and good reviews on food from friends. Arrived after booking, to being looked up and down by the landlady. She pointed to this pue in a corner, being with two tall built men and being tall myself, we asked for another table in the restaurant to be sneered at because we asked. Deal... More

Called in with some pals having not visited for about 25 years, the pub (if that's what it is) looked beautiful, nice old style music in the background, then we were served by the landlady who had a face like a slapped backside, I don't think she really wanted 3 fellas popping in for a drink, I can only guess...
