Our visit to this small vinyard was really interesting and the wines were exceptional. The owner was welcoming and gave us a good insight into the winemaking and growing process. Cheese and biscuits were provided with the wine samples. We bought 2 bottles of our favourites to take home. Well worth a visit.

Do not TREK all the way from the Vineyard Hopper bus stop to this vineyard! We got there after a long walk only to be told that they were closed for a private function... Very unfriendly compared to the other vineyards on the beautiful island so I'd recommend any of the others ahead of this one. It's unfortunate because it... More

This place is in a sheltered spot, so it is a good place to visit on a very windy day! When you get there, there is no expensive restaurant or expensive tasting, but there is plenty of good wine, when you buy a bottle then the tasting is free. Very friendly staff will provide you with the history and the... More

A small and beautiful vineyard with great service. For $10 we had a tasting of 5-6 wines and had the wine maker give us detailed information about each. The wine itself was very nice and we were pleased to be provided with a list of where it was available to purchase in Auckland. This vineyard does not do food and... More

This depends upon which way you're wired, if you want the fancy more corporate experience, head to Cable Bay or Mudbrick or StonyRidge...we prefer the smaller growers. The vineyard itself is beautiful with a small store and about 10 seats outside. You get the run through of why it's called Obsidian, even shown a ruddy big lump of it, and... More

I was traveling with a Master of Wine student looking at tbe famous wines on Waiheke Island. I am a vineyard owner myself, so based on reputation we were very excited to try these famous wines. Unfortunately the experience was generally disappointing most of the wines we looked at were clearly showing oxidative notes suggesting a lack of attention to... More

Lovely vineyard with cellar door sales and tastings. Beautiful wines! If you like white wine the Reserve Chardonnay is very nice and the reds are stunning too! Don't miss out on this one!

We had a lovely tasting at the winery, served by the winemaker who was very very generous with his time and knowledge. They brought the dog a water bowl and something comfy to lie down on, and if they had a restaurant we would have stayed for lunch and made an afternoon of it.

Took some American friends around vineyards. This was the worst service. Very grumpy man who did not offer us what was on offer, not the Pinot Gris or the Reserve Syrah until asked (& these were the best) yet they offered these to others. Perhaps because we were a larger group they couldn't cope or were just overheated given a... More

Three of us arrived today for wine tasting, managed to taste a good variety of wines. The Montepulciano was absolutely awesome.
