Drove down from Santiago de Compostela in about an hour along the very fast and beautiful highway. Arrived in Cangas about 11. A WORD OF WARNING: if you're coming into town by car, be aware of what will happen if you come in on market day (Friday). We spent ages driving round the harbour, where cars were double and triple... Ferry from vigo takes 45 minutes and costs €16. They like you to book your return time when heading out, little frustrating as it depends how it goes once you arrive on Island. The island is beautiful, many beaches and alcoves. We went end of September and walked the main beach full length whilst there was no one else on... More

Cíes are really wonderful. Crystal clear waters, almost no waves at all and not crowded. The only bad thing is the cold water - really cold. But it's worth the visit, you won't regret.

We took the boat from Vigo city (2 adults and 2 children: 18€ad/7€kids) which takes about 40 mins. It can be breezy, so although you may want to stay on top bring a sweater or light jacket! The day we went, it was a very hot day forecast so we travelled very light - BIG MISTAKE! On arrival to the... More

The islands are beautiful with white soft sand and blue/transparent water. There was however little information on the beaches itself - for instance, the beach we ended up had lots of full naked people! Also, we booked our ticket through the web and got an e-ticket on our mobile. So, when we got to the port we headed straight to... More

Beautiful island, and if you're willing to walk a little there's 3 beaches worth checking. Turn offs: cold water, crowded, pricy trip (18,5 €) Turn ons: the scenery and the beaches

These islands is a clear "must see" when you travel around Galicia. Taking the ferry boat from Vigo (18.5 EUR/ Person) to Illas Cies its incredible to see the nice landscape, flowers, wildlife, birds and especially the lighthouse on top of the mountain. Best is to leave the arrival area around the harbour asap and take the route to the... More

The Islas Cies are beautiful. There's no question about it. Surrounded by the cleanest and most limpid water you will probably experience in Europe, they also offer a range of breathtaking views no matter which viewpoint you're standing. Promoted as a protected natural park, Islas Cies are famous for their immense variety of fish and maritime creatures (we even spotted... More

The sights are breathtaking. The beaches are white sanded, soft and clean. We arrived with the first boat that left cangas at 08:50, so we were the first to arrive to the beach. Felt like its our private island, hearing only the birds and the sound of the ocean. Playa the rodas is very nice but we liked best the... More
