We took the Mar de Ons boat from Cangas. Upon arriving at the island we followed the walks on the island for a few hours. They are beautiful, but do require good shoes since they are rocky. Then we spent time sitting on the beach where we relaxed. We took a picnic, although there are restaurants in the island. The... More

A half hour trip by boat from Vigo and you find yourself on this amazing beach. White sand, blue water, no cars, hotels and plenty of space. Walk to the highest point through the eucalyptus trees and see the waves roll into the bay. If you don't like staking your claim with the beach towel this is definitely for you

The guardian named it as one of the best beaches in the world with good reason. Fabulous white sand and crystalline waters made for a relaxed afternoon in the sun.

Nature, wild, paradise beach... Only that it's quite cold water! Great for the day and feel peaceful and happy! Really worth the visit. Careful because there is a limit amount of people that can visit for the day... If during the summer and good weather, you need to take an early boat.

I've seen the description "one of the best beaches in the world" in a few places. Sure, the beach is beautiful, but I'm sorry to say, that I don't count amongst the best I've been to. Very crowded in the daytime.

This place is awesome. Went for the day. There is a walking path that takes you to the highest point in the island, and its high!. We saw seagulls with their baby chicks and all kinds of beautiful plants and flowers. There are bathrooms and water fountains. if you want to stay there is a camping site for which reservations... lovely place, good facilities. Watch out for seagulls. If you want to avoid the nudist beach check the signage carefully.

I've been several times to Cies. If I'm at Vigo during the summer time I'll definitely will go there for a day (weather allowing!). There are ferry boats from Vigo, Cangas and Bayona and the trip last aprox 30 mins. Cies is only of the most beautiful places...while approaching the islands you can perfectly see the gold sandy beach that... More

We visited this island on our first visit to the Pontevedra region and cannot recommend it highly enough. We didn't have pre-purchased tickets and were bombarded by staff when we tried to buy them, but once we got to the island we were very impressed. Beautiful white sand beaches, clear blue and green water and lots of wildlife, this was... More
