My wife and I were fortunate to be recommended to visit the Douraki winery. Andreas Douraki built this place from scratch with the best machines/material available and spared no expense. I had found his wine before in a great Xanià restaurant and was eager to see where it's made. We were given a tasting of 5 different wines and they... More

I've been here a few times for tastings (my last visit was just this past week) with small and larger groups, and every time it's such a beautiful experience. The Dourakis family takes excellent care of their guests and their wines are impeccable (not to mention extremely reasonably priced!). And this is coming from an extremely picky person (me) who... We specially came to visit the winery by the recommendation of our hosts from the hotel, where we spent a brilliant time. Before coming back home we decided to buy some wine and experience the wine making process. However, we faced the disappointment, because only big groups are expected, and if you are only two or three do not flatter... More

Stopped here on the way to Hora Sfakion as it looked and inviting place to stop for a break on the long drive from the airport. Walk in past the winery up the steps to a vine covered terrace and then into a cool tasting room. We were treated to a very enjoyable tasting by the matriarch of the family,... More

We booked online for the tasting plus lunch. Our guide Helen was fantastic, really knowledgeable and held the interest of teenagers and old soaks in our party. The meal was really excellent and we're looking forward to the wine we bought- much better value than Heraklion airport so buy when you're there.

Having spent the first ten days of our holiday depleting Cretan stocks of the Dourakis range, we decided to visit and see where it all happened. As a large group including three children under 10, Helen managed the children's demanding questions very well (and indeed one of the party who works in the wine trade asking lots of questions too).... We went there without knowing what to expect. Hellen, the host, knew what she was talking about and you could tell that she was attached to the place and the Douraki family. The homemade goat cheese was like nothing we had experienced before and the wine delicous as well. If you go to Crete you HAVE to go there. Cheers.

Myself and three other friends stopped by the vineyard on our way back from a days clay pigeon shooting. We hadn't booked but we were made more than welcome with a simple tasting of this wineries fine wines. We were given an excellent description of the different wines tasted and a history of the winery and its production. This is... More

Visited the vineyard today (19th July 2014). We turned up unannounced. There was already a wine tasting lunch going on. Helen, the ex-pat Brit welcomed us in & deftly juggled doing a wine tasting for my wife & I as well as the people having their wine tasting lunch. We were made so welcome. It felt like home. We sampled... More
