Good lunch, wonderful view

Restaurant terrace with a nice sea view, good sandwiches and light lunch options. Interesting art gallery to reach the restaurant.

We always stop here while driving the Big Sur coast. It has gotten better during the years. It is expensive, but browsing is free. There is a cafe and bathrooms.

The artwork is all good. Most of it deals with nature and Big Sur. Fairly expensive but unique. Helpful staff. Location and parking lot tricky to get into and out of.

Lots of stuff from local artists, and the place is much bigger than you would think as you pull up. Multiple levels of local art with a coffee shop/cafe at the top level with a view to boot and the most important thing??? a public bathroom

I've been coming to the Coast Gallery since 1984. It is the best place for just the kind of lovely art and artsy things you want to take home with you to keep the Big Sur feeling going. Wind chimes, wooden boxes, sculptures, photography, art glass, and fantastic coffee drinks in the Café upstairs. Dog friendly, too!

I didn't expect much in the middle do Big Sur but the gallery and cafe are outstanding. The quality of the art for sale is quite high and the staff is very knowledgeable. The cafe is a treasure with great views

I stop at the Coast Gallery on a trip thru Big Sur. It was well worth a stop and I believe they have a coffee shop above the art gallery with outside seating

Very interesting and eclectic collection of various art works. We have a few in the house including a very nice vase.

I believe this used to be called "Nepenthe" and Orson Welles had it built for Rita Hayworth. In any case, the view is spectacular and you can find wonderful unique art provided by local artists. This is truly a "must see" when you travel the Pacific Coast Hwy. When you resume your travel north, do go to Carmel and Monterey,... More
