As nice as our resort is, it basically holds you captive if you have no transportation. Our trip to Puerto Morales was a good stop. Had a great dinner of fresh fish which we were able to choose from those caught fresh that day. Also found a great little boutique with different things in clothing and handmade jewelry and accessories.

This place is much quieter than other destinations. Altho it has the requisite tourist stores, there is still some of the original town to see. The restaurants are not busy, but do serve good food and drinks. Also has a small grocery store.

Kind of disappointing, typical stuff you can get anywhere in Mexico. There were a few unique items but not enough to recommend making a special trip. I didn't feel it was worth giving up my time away from the beautiful resort/beach for. The gift shops in the resort had nicer items.

After reading the reviews here, I was looking forward to shopping here as I always like to bring home native handicrafts from the places I visit. We arrived at 10am and most of the stalls weren't even open. Also most of the items were not unique but what I could have gotten in my hotel gift shop, though at a higher... More

We were there a few times. Most of the goods on sale are what you see every where in mexico. However they have very nice mayan shirts and children wear at very reasonable prices. There is also on artisan that makes interesting lamps.

There are a number of "craft markets" around Puerto Morelos. This is the place where most of the work you see is done by local people - in many cases, right on site. The textile work is very nice - we own several blankets and tablecloths purchased here. Sometimes we see other visitors bargaining for prices here, but honestly, the... More

This is the place to get your gifts for people. The individuals here are fantastic and their goods are beautiful. You can even ask to see the looms for the blankets and hammocks while you are looking to buy something.

You can find some good artists in here! I bought a painting this guy is great. he uses some ceramic tile and paints the most gorgeous sceneries with his hands! he even will wrap it so it can get safe (and in one piece) back home :) ... you can find a lot of cool stuff to bring back! =)
