I would rank this reef far better than any other I have snorkeled. We booked a trip from the El Cid Marina. It was easy to get to from the resort. The amount of fish we saw was simply amazing. The gear provided was ok. If you have your own gear, I would bring it no matter who you go... More

Such an ideal reef for adults and kids alike!!!! Shallow and absolutely beautiful reef!!!! Take a cab into town and book a trip with 7 days snorkeling or anyone right on the pier. Stay away from big groups, it ruins the experience. Two locations, 45 minutes each swim- $25 per person!!

Quick access to an amazing place to snorkel. Very family friendly, but kids should probably be at least 6 years old to get the most out of the experience. Remember to bargain with the boat driver. We would highly recommend asking for "Charlie Brown." Very nice, older guy. Quite a character! Very clean boat.

You can snorkel off the beach in Akumal or in the Yal Ku lagoon, but the best reef conditions I've found in the area are a short boat ride off the beach at Puerto Morelos. The reef is protected, the coral is in good shape and there are plenty of fish.

Loved the snorkeling adventure on the reef. The next time I do this I will hire a boat in Puerto Morelos instead of going with the large group though.

Enjoyed the visit here to snorkel. The reef is in very good condition. Lots of fish, corals and shallow areas for good viewing.

Reef is beautiful! Also seen turtles and a really large barracuda. Had a private snorkeling tour for an hour and a half & I'd definitely do that again as opposed to with a large group!

My husband and I went through a dive shop to see two parts of the reef. The reef is well worth seeing with many colourful fish and coral. We went through Aquanauts which has a store front on the main plaza with the actual equipment and boat at the Hacienda Morelos a couple of blocks away. We paid US $30... More
