Went for a snorkeling trip arranged through our hotel in April 2012. For about 64.00 USD each, my daughter and I were taken by an very nice air conditioned van to and from Puerto Morelos. It is about a 30 minute drive from our hotel, south of Cancun. The entire trip turn around was about 5 hours which did not...

Very strong current for snorkeling. Water was very clear. If you don't get the lunch buffet for an extra $21 you have to wait about 1.5 hours for your ride home. Get the pico de gallo, chips, guacamole. It is excellent and only $6.

We went on the snorkel extreme tour (which does not acutally include any snorkelling!) which was great! We zip lined, dived into awsome cenotes from 40-50ft, dived and swam in underground caves and travelled to the different location by use of quad bikes. Amazing, but make sure you carry plenty of cash for tips and pictures!

To experience Mexican life in a small community, a visit to Puerto Morelos is highly recommended
We were staying in a hotel nearby which offered cycle trips to Puerto Morelos
We were able to see the old lighthouse which has been damaged by many hurricanes and is now the symbol for their community, their version of the Eiffel Tower !!...
