It is a very nice place to go and spend the whole day surrounded by nature. There are a lot of routes to walk and discover the different aspects of these Pyrinnean nature. It is worth to relax and listen to the silence close to the lake. I strongly recommend you to go hiking in this wonderful place!

An easy walk for those of most abilities. Walked with a very determined and fit 82 year old who made it up, beyond and back down. Nice and shady in the heat but you lose the views. Several restaurants around the lake make a lovely welcome respite.

In the summer it is a magnet for holiday makers and locals alike.it is actually a reservoir with the facility for he kids to attend a climbing through the tree canopy. There are end,was trails to walk along from long hikes to shirt walks. Plenty of parking and a couple of restaurants. Lovely for picnics.int he winter it's fascinating to... More

The walk was really nice, peaceful and scenic. The water did not look too clean, but was quite low and with an amazing number of small fish. We parked on the top of the hill in the restaurant car park. We had drinks, but don't waste your time as they were really bad and expensive.

We went to Andorra in May. There is not so many people around as it´s not the season. The place is truly beautiful. We´ve been walking about 3 km on the easy, wide trail witl a lovely views of the valley and lots of flowers and plants around. There are several boards that explain what you see. Everything is very... More

Very easy walk with two three places to eat. as its easy with easy access there are lots of people the only place in Andorra you really find people on a walk. Pleasant but thats about it for me as ots a bit artificial as the lake is formed by a dam

We took the botanic trail to the lake, which goes exactly 3 km in one way (and the same back). It is truly a lovely walk; many locals are jogging or escorting their children on different vehicles. However I was surprised (for that mountain country) that the trail is completely levelled. One goes through a tunnel that gets sidelight and... More

Engolasters Lake above Encamp is a wonderful place. For peace and quiet this is the place. For the fisherman the lake is stocked with trout that sometimes bite you hand off to be caught and other times are infuriatingly elusive (day licenses required - ask your hotel). But for the walker its the perfect place to take a break before... More

I took my five year old son on this walk, it was quite easy and he had a brilliant time at the lake spotting huge fish swimming close to the surface. We took a picnic and had a fantastic time, nice for a family outing, even if you don't do the entire walk.

The walk is on a good trail from a large car park to an artificial lake. The going is easy and there are numerous seats for the less energetic. The walk is about 8 kilometres for the round trip. The views are superb and there is a way around the whole lake beneath the dam. There are lovely, little paths... More
