This is one of the most fascinating open air museums in Europe. Not only that you can see famous sculptures of Carl Milles (1875-1955) but also the place where he used to live and you can learn about his life. Given the period of his living, it is obvious you'll be confronted with his relationship to other artists of those... More

Unlike of many museums, buildings, sights, and similar attractions, this unik collection of sculptures by the great Carl Milles artfully placed on the vast terraces facing beautiful bay, is another must see in Stockholm, which you'll never find anywhere else. The sculpures are beautiful in any weather, even in the rain, whose tricles make them even more alive

I'm privileged to live in the city but we always bring guests to the Old Town as it's so very well preserved nice for walking, lots of lovely cafés and restaurants too.

the milles museum and garden are worth the little trip to the island of lidingo in Stockholm. you start with the tube, then take one bus stop to cross the bridge and then a short walk to the museum itself. the museum present both the artists home and studio, and the amazing sculpture garden, built on terraces with harbor views.... Easier to go there than first expected. So worth it!! Carl Milles was a World-famous artist whom lived and worked in this beautiful house. Do not forget the nice shop With souvenirs. I , myself, live on the Island Lidingö ( where the museum is situated) and I often go to the shop to buy presents for my friends. I... More

Must see place for every sculpture and art lover. I was quite amazaed with it, just sitting on the bench and enjoying the sun, looking at the statues is enough to fall in love with this place. Besides outdoors, there is also part indoors-with the statues and even paintings. Its a little bit out of the city, but its not... More

Even if you're not the slightest interested in sculpture, this is one of the loveliest places in Stockholm you can visit. The home of Carl Milles and his wife, nearly all of his major works are to be seen in the terrace/garden surrounding the Italian inspired villa.

An amazing number of huge sculptures. Most of them sort of flying, supported by just one small beam. The garden, on the side of the river, is huge and so is the number of sculptures. Milles must have worked day and night. Very impressive !

Loved it! I visited as an extra point on the map but I was glad I did. It is a bit far from the center - metro + bus but is worth it and is not that hard to find.
