Cave of Mira de Aire. The cave is one of the several in the Porto de Mos region. The internal temperature of 17º Celsius is stable during the whole year around. At the start of the visit, they present you a 10 minutes during video on the history of the cave, and than you are going for one hour into... More

The cave itself is very beautiful and by right considered to be a natural wonder of Portugal but.... The customer service and presentation are very poor. They assured us at the cash desk that we will have guided visit in english with video in english at beginning.... nothing of this happened. The guide was almost rude and did not speak... More

The cave is wonderful and well-illuminated so you can see everything. You can't understand how huge it is until you go to the most deep point of the tour. I thought it would be fairly cold inside (Nov 2014) but it was nicely fresh. It gets slippery so watch your step. Before the tour you have a 10 min film... More

We visited the caves as part of a coach trip with around 38 friends. The caves, the largest in Portugal, are amazing, in total some 11Km of caverns have been explored since their discovery in 1947 but only about 600 meters are covered by the public tour. There is a well made concrete walkway throughout, no scrambling, this has been... More

This was my first time being in any cave , so the experience was good. Like mentioned in the previous reviews , there are no signs and information tablets inside the caves. They are well illuminated. In some cases they have illuminated with artificial colorful lights, somehow which tends to take away the natural feelings. The guide only spoke portugese... More

Excellent natural caves with a good ilumination and well prepared to receive visitors. The guide's explanation about the cave is weak and there isn't a walkthrough guide to follow the path of the visit. Besides that they put too much visitors inside the elevator to the exit, which is uncomfortable and unsafe... A must see in this area!

Enjoyed the visit to the caves - really spectacular and interesting even for children. It is a shame that the video at the start is only in Portuguese and that the guides will not speak English as we had to rely on very kind Portuguese tourists to translate for us - but this was still a great place to visit.

We loved the visit to the caves, they are magnificent!! Yet, there's something that can be improved, the initial presentation (before enter the caves), should be translated/subbed to english at least, so visitors from other countries can understand and learn the history of the caves!
