Charming Castello.

Very small town around the castle. its exactly why people go to Tuscany. Small, old, well restored castle in the centre. Wine testing experience next to it.

We took the tour at 10 euros a pop, which included a taste of a couple of small tasters of their wines. That's not a lot of money, for a fairly extensive tour of the hidden world of wine that lies behind Volpaia's ancient doors. It was informative enough, and the tasting room was amazing, housing, as it does, the... More

Volpaia is a beautiful, picturesque hilltop village, of, I have been told, only 94 people. It is storybook. Don't miss it.

Castello di Volpaia is magical! We drove through absolutely stunning Tuscan landscape on our journey there, and were absolutely delighted with the wines, the food and the tour. The village itself is perfectly maintained, and it is wonderful to see the ancient buildings being lived in and used. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the drive and the village.... More

My wife and I spent 3 enchanting nights here in late Sept into Oct. our favorite experience here was wine tasting at the lunch restaurant. The service, wine, and food were all well planned and exquisite. Our only regret was that this lunch restaurant was not open in the evening to dine after traveling during the days to Volterra and... We came to Volpaia as a group of wine lovers and were not disappointed. The winery is run by a fantastic mother daughter team and their wines are exquisite. The restaurant was excellent in terms of service and the quality of the food. It is in such beautiful area of Tuscany and should not be missed.

This place was highly recommended by a friend who was born here. At a very short drive from Radda, this lovely village is a gem of a place. The drive was wonderful and there are lovely restaurants here. The walk around this place was such a pleasure. Plan to stay back for dinner here and you will be happy.

A friend who owns a vineyard and winery in the US, suggested a visit to Volpaia. It was not until we (4 of us) went to many other tastings that we fully understood how wonderful the experience at Volpaia was! Our tasting guide, Olympia, was a beautiful and informative young lady from the Isle of Man. We tasted 5 wines... More

Our first experience of the restaurant attached to the Castello di Volpaia was excellent. The service was friendly and welcoming (special mention to Olympia who was great) and the food lovely (albeit from a small but beautifully considered menu). We had the plate of cold meats with wild boar and fennel-flavoured salamis and prosciutto (mmm!) with salad caprese both well... More
