A friend who owns a vineyard and winery in the US, suggested a visit to Volpaia. It was not until we (4 of us) went to many other tastings that we fully understood how wonderful the experience at Volpaia was! Our tasting guide, Olympia, was a beautiful and informative young lady from the Isle of Man. We tasted 5 wines... More

Our first experience of the restaurant attached to the Castello di Volpaia was excellent. The service was friendly and welcoming (special mention to Olympia who was great) and the food lovely (albeit from a small but beautifully considered menu). We had the plate of cold meats with wild boar and fennel-flavoured salamis and prosciutto (mmm!) with salad caprese both well... More

This was one of the wineries highly recommended by our hotel. We were lucky to have a private guided tour of the winery by the very elegant lady WHO owns the winery . The wine we tasted was great ( we bought a few bottles ) and visiting the cellars placed at the historical buildings of the town was very... More

Be sure to tour the winery, take in the tastes and sights of this quaint Tuscan hideaway. Then perch on one of the many overlooks in town and let the Timeless landscape so the your soul.

Our drive to Volpaia thru the winding roads was great. Thru a valley and up into the sunshine to this small area just north of Radda in Chianti. The winery itself is an old castle that has been renovated. The entry has a shop full of wine and olive oil. The winery has a restaurant attached and is very good.... More

Castello di volpaia is located in a charming, medieval village in Radda. Upon driving up and entering, we were instantly impressed by the place. Our tour of the grounds and the cellars were informative and interesting. Our tour guide told us she was new to volpaia. Unfortunately I can't recall her name. She was very wonderful and made our experience... More

The little town, the winery, wine tasting were all a treat. We topped it off with a great lunch at the little restaurant on the left as you walk in from the parking lot. (Fee for the winery tour, reservations recommended)

What can you say more than divine... The place is just breathless for its beauty. Half way in between Siena and Florence, it is ideal to stop by this marvelous place and take a moment for yourself to cheer life with a glass of vine. I've been living since a long time in Italy, but this place really stole my... More

we had just wanted a tasting and then to buy some wine but were told on the phone to join a wine tour, we were not told until the end that it would cost us euro 16 each. I have never been on a tour that makes a charge for a tasting and believe me I have been on many... More
