Stunning scenary. well maintained ski lifts and equipment plus good restaurants and truly amazing way to spend a weekend in winter or days in Summer. beautiful days spent relaxing in the Mountains just 20 minutes outside the City of Almaty. Good views over Almaty, and during the week not too crowded. The restaurants serve very nice shashlyk among other things, well worth a visit if you're in town. The cable car up also gives excellent views.

I am from Rep. of Ireland but am very luck to live in Almaty and ski here 3 times a week for all of the season. It's very inexpensive (particularly midweek) and so close to town. The runs are not that difficult but I wouldn't say it's for absolute beginners either. Ak Bulak (30k from city) near Talgar is a... More

I'm very lucky to live in Almaty just 30 min drive for one of the best ski resort I have been!! You can go up to 3200 m, it's take a bit of time but after 20 min you will be on the top... Beautiful landscape. Pistes are awesome for all levels, really love it!!!

Good ski resort wuth a good varity of slopes and a total of 4 lifts. From 2500 m to 3200m. A fantastic view of mountains and Almaty on a clear day. You take the cable car from Medeo. Be aware that traffic to Medeo on busy weekends is terrible and easily can take an hour from the city.

The facilities are quite new and of good quality. It takes 20 min to go from the very top at 3,200m to the bottom of the station of continuous skiing. This is really really nice. But there is very little regard for skier safety: no fence to stop you going off the sloop and plunging to your death!!! They are... More

I went there on a sunny day and very nice cool weather. As I cannot speak Russian, I paid 3,000 tenge for taxi (one-way) from the Almaty City Center to the cable car station. Then, went on the cable car to the top of the mountain. It was a long ride. Very nice and amazing view. In winter must be... More

One of the world's great ski places, only to come up with the cable car to the top of the mountain takes more than 20 minutes, a stunning place with breathtaking views, a ski resort seemed very invested in luxury, on-site restaurant is very expensive and may not want to eat there
