We did 4-day trip. Day 1 from Gjendesheim over Besseggen to Russvatnet, day 2 to Glitterheim, day 3 climb Glittertind and back to Glitterheim, day 4 back to Gjendesheim over Tjonnholet. 2 people, stayed in a tent and used huts only for loading our mobiles and getting weather forecasts. Best map for planning is http://www.norgeskart.no/ (it has trails and terrain).... More

This was awesome and lived up to expectations. Stayed the night in Gjendesheim and took the ferry to Memurubu to begin the hike. Glad we made that choice given the challenging rock climbing after the ridge. It would have been awful going down. Lots of snow (this was June) so if you don't want to be hiking through snowfields then... More

We did some few hikes in Jotunheimenpark - included the famous Bessegen hike. The Bessegen trail is still almost completely covered in snow - so prepare your hike well - I won't lie it's a tough and challenging hike - but the views are so worth it! We did saw some wild reindeers too! The trip took us about 8... More

We drove route 55 - it is only open from May to September and the drive makes you feel like you are on a different planet. Snow on both sides in May that is up to 20 feet at times. A very solitary and inspiring experieince

it is as it is called by Viking. Jotunheimen is really stunning and regretfully I only stayed there for one night, I should stay there for at least three days so can enjoy the snow hike, glacier hike, and sitting down just to enjoy the lakes. be prepare with hiking gear and your best physically fit then you will enjoy... My husband and I are both over 55- Fit and healthy and it took us about 8 and a half hours to do the hike- We absolutely loved it! The views from the top were superb! One of the best views I have experienced on a hike- We caught the boat to Memurubu - cost 120 NOK per person and... More

See my review for the Besseggen Ridge but the park has some amazing terrain. We drove through, stayed one night at the Gjendesheim, did the ridge hike and made it to Lom by late afternoon - we are fast so you could spend another night in the park. Get out and walk around, the place is beautiful. The services are... More
