Wow, wow, wow. What an awesome experience we had today at Wingspan. Our paparazzi snapped some great shots and our 6 year old grand-son had an experience we are sure he will remember for ever. As the presenter said... the young ones are our future conservation and preservation warriors. The hands-on experience was amazing. Thank you all so much. Keep... More

Being a serious raptor lover, my review will hold some bias, and I feel compelled to share my conflict of interest at the outset. Some may consider the entry price a little steep (I think it was $25), but I felt that it was entirely appropriate given that I know this money works extremely hard to save the falcons. [I... More

We recently had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful project. The volunteers obviously have a passion for their work and the flying display we watched was awesome. It is worth visiting over some of the more traditional sights in the region.

As a middle-aged/older NZer who has spent a lot of time outdoors, I have never seen one of these native falcons in the wild. To be able to see them so close (even hold one!) was a truly unique experience you will not get anywhere else in the world. Entertaining and informative. Well worth a visit but make sure you... More

A very informative and emotional place to visit. A chance to learn and see NZs fascinating raptors up close.

Wingspan is a small operation that relies on donations. The aviary is roomy and well thought out. You can see Nz Falcon, Morepork, Owl, Millenium Falcon and Aussie Harrier. At 2pm the falconers do a talk and a flight display which was really interesting. Very different from some larger run operations where there is more variety in the birds to... More

This place has it all. Great people who are happy to impart their knowledge, beautiful birds, superb opportunities for photography, and definitely one of the better value 'attractions' in Rotorua!

Photographers Dream. Trying to capture these amazing birds on film (or sensor) is a really good challenge. Fast, agile and a capable of fantastic aerobatics, these guys are well worth the trip.
