We had a lovely visit to Popeye Village recently. What a lovely setting to spend a few hours enjoying the lovely January sunshine and finding out all about the filming of Popeye film. It was very amusing watching the animation team perform their little "dittys" in the square and an absolute hoot of a laugh watching some visitors take part... More

The popeye village is worth a vist for those of you who liked the Robin Willian's film After they made the film the set was left and turned into a tourist attraction It is well maintained and there are staff walking around as stars if the film At the time we went included in the price of the ticket was... This is a film set for Popeye and houses all kinds of relics and memoribillia which chart the creation and popularity of Popeye. It has very little to do with the film which starred Robin Williams. It is amazing to see how quaint and cute a film set can be and the views from it are amazing. The entertainers are... More

We probably picked the worst day weather wise to visit Popeye Village, overcast, windy & quite chilly so there was no boat ride as the sea was too rough which was one of the things we were most looking forward to. We entered and made our way around but the Santa's workshop part wasn't open to explore which we weren't... More

We decided to visit the popeye village to please our inner child lol. What a great place. Read lots of previous reviews and was looking forward to it. When we got there the weather was lovely but we were told the boat trip wasn't on today as the sea was a bit rough but we would be able to get... More

Good to visit, although if you walk a little further around the road you will get a very good cliff top view of the whole village, thus perhaps avoiding the entrance fee, but getting great photos.

Dear James H, We thank you for finding time during you stay in Malta to visit Popeye Village. It is true that the scenery from the cliffs is breath-taking, nonetheless, you will only truly experience the film-set from inside. Thank you Joseph Borg Events, HR & Customer Relations Manager More

This is sort of an odd place to go with kids, as most have never heard of Popeye, so there's a lot of explaining to do. The set is really well done, but the entrance fee is pretty high and meals are also pricey and not very good. If the water is choppy, you can't go for a boat ride... More

Went here with my partner for a day trip. In terms of the village, there really isn't much to see or do, and so in that sense I wouldn't really recommend it for kids. However for anyone who enjoys a good view, then this is 100% worth visiting. Really incredible. Also there is a 10 or 15 min boat tour... More

as adults you may not need to actually go inside as if you walk round the corner you will see the most beautiful set in an amazingly clear bay. take a picnic and a glass of something you like and just relax and enjoy. we walked there and back from mellahi with no difficulty and we are not especially fit!
