Impressive

Very large 'Parish' church set high over the town. Really impressive architecture. Well worth a visit. The views from outside the church over the bay are also very good.

If you want to confess your sins this is a place you can trust. Don't be relanctant to ask for a priest who will help you to confess.

A beautiful sanctuary steeped in history. Some nice memorabilia from Pope John Paul 2nd's visit in the little museum attached. Easily reached by bus and visible, perched high on the hill. Take a look at the Grotto nearby, and also the lovely Cemetery close by.

This is more of a review of the walk up to Mellieha from the bay, than of the cathedral itself, although that was nice too. I walked up early morning (about 5:30) to beat the sun, which would make it unbearably hot, otherwise. Mellieha is a lovely little town, with enough sites to fill a couple of hours up there.... These tunnels are a real treat. A great escape from the midday sun. Once you have ventured to the end I am sure that like us you will search for evidence at street level as to how far they stretch. Further than expected!

We stayed in mellieha bay so we could just walk up the hill to the church or get the bus. The day we visited the church it was not open but we looked around outside. It is a beautiful church and there is an air raid shelter out side of the church gates which is open at certain times. You also... More

Lovely church and chapel, with wonderful view of Mellieha bay and Comino in the distance. Not to be missed in a sunny, clear day.

We like the view from the church, unfortunately it was closed. I would have loved to have gone back, but on the day it was raining and very cold. This we will visit on our next trip.

We did not enter the church, but it is a very imposing structure and stands over the town. If you can walk around to the front. It stands at the end of a suburban street. Around the back of the church is a playground where you get magnificent views over the bay below.
