A great place to have a pleasant walk. If you are sporty and like to try wind surfing and such, they offer lessons for newbies right on the beach! We walked along the beach to the lighthouse and there are wonderful places to sit and relax and enjoy a drink or snack.

there is a great beach and fewer people in January. Surfing in the dunes could be very nice and funny. There is a nudist beach. There are also many restaurants from Chinese to French.

the beach extends for miles and the walk to the lighthouse at the other end is well worth it. Deviating into the dunes is fun too.

If you're visiting Gran Canaria for the first time you simply have to go to see these dunes. The views are not quite what they would've been 20 years ago but they are still brilliant. There is also a great beach all the way along the dunes and it's great fun climbing the huge dunes and just going for a... More

Amazing beach, fine sands, pretty wide, fairly calm ocean waters. The dunes next to it are magnificent, definitely do visit them to get a real feel of a desert.

Been coming to Maspalomas beach for 17 years and used to have a sun lounger for the day and bring a picnic. Then they closed the loos in the middle of the beach n that meant a long trek back to the prom,so not so inviting. Usually v windy and the sea can be v lively with strong waves=good for... More

A long sandy beach and dunes protecting from the wind are wonderful. High waves makes Maspalomas a favorite with good swimmers, but the shallow water along the coastline makes it perfect for families with young children.

Look out for thieves - even among the nudists. The beach and dunes of Maspalomas consist of yellow sand of a somewhat coarse quality and with an occational fist-size stone thrown in for every 5 meter - whereas Dueodde has white sand (only sand!) of much finer quality. Once the sand from Dueodde was even used in hourglasses. So you... More

We went to Maspalomas beach to see the sand dunes. I know it might sound obvious, but the sand is hot! Hotter than you expect, My sandal came off and I burnt the bottom of my foot quite badly. Otherwise, it is well worth a visit!
