The beach was not bad, but for swimmers it's a turn off because of the large pebbles on the shore. The sand is dark and really "dusty", but that was not a problem, though we are used to yellow sand. But, being the water quite warm, it was sad not to be able to go for a swim.

There are some good shops and the Faro area (with Moonlight Cinema, small supermarket, pharmacy, bus station & proper restaurants etc) within walking distance. The usual points to watch out for on a holiday beach: be prepared to pay for a lounger or else watch that you don't get burned in the unremitting sun. Tacky expensive shops nearby - OK... More

To many buildings being put up and have spoilt the low profile resort.the access to Maspolomas is great but it lacks a quality beach , saying this there is a fantastic sand dune area if that is your cup of tea.well tired resort past it's best would have been good say 5 years ago

Had a great day watching the kids roll down the sand dunes at Maspaloms in the rain ! Beach clean and huge enough to beat the crowds. Plenty of restaurants and shops with friendly staff who don't mind sand-covered kids!

Huge, long beach with lovely waters (with lifeguards) and places to buy drinks and snacks. Great to walk from Maspalomas all the way to Playa del Ingles (takes a good hour).

Great sandy beach, near to bars, restaurants and shops. Just avoid the nudist area (unless that's your thing!)

visited the beach several times during our recent stay, there are shops and "chic boutiques" closer to the lighthouse end of the beach. one bar that was particularly recommended was paddys bar which sits directly on the beach near the wooden board walks, small but very friendly and will exchange euro for you at a excellent rate! the beach itself...
