this beach has impressive, large sand dunes - within a nature reserve that also contains a small lake and various types of foliage. the dunes remind you that you are on an island very close to africa and the sahara, and make this one of the best beaches in the canaries. outside of the reserve there is plenty of yellow... Nice, clean beach. Good for a romantic walk to watch the sunset. There are lovely restaurants and bars nearby.

One side of the lighthouse is a horrible stony beach and the other side of the lighthouse is a fabulous beach with massive dunes. But if you dont like nudity, well don't walk too far along the beach. There is a nudist sign so you know when you are there. I do not think there is a toilet anywhere on... More

For the gay traveller, Maspalomas is all about the Dunes. There are several trails through the Dunes to connect with the main gay beach. There are camel rides through there too.

The real reason for our repeated visits at Gran Canaria is the unique Beach and the magnificent Dunas at Maspalomas. Although a very popular destination for many tourists its vast area is never too crowded.

This beach offers a good long walk for daily exercise - apparently if you walk for 2 hours you can reach Playa del Ingles without leaving the beach! The beach itself [ we were at the Faro end] is quiet and relaxing for sunbathing. There is plenty of free sand for those who do not want to hire a sunbed... More

Very popular and clean, great beach and by the dunes. Good for a walk along the beach to Playa Ingleses. Plenty of small friendly bards and places to eat, huge lighthouse!
