To your right are the poshest hotels and bars on the island. To your left, the long walk up the beach to the naked and gay beaches, in 10 trips to Gran Can I have never considered the Pharos as anything other than a sign that you've reached the beach and tell your taxi driver to drop you off.

We have just got back from a morning spent walking around the area surrounding El Faro. The area is full of lovely restaurants and boutique shops which although on the pricey side are lovely to look around. The walk along the sea front is very enjoyable even in the heat. The sand sculptures are really good and worth a look.... More

It's great to walk along the beach from playa del ingles to the light house, when you arrive there are designers shops and plenty of cafes over looking the sea really relaxing. If you don't want to walk back just jump in a taxi for around 5 euros. Take a look it's a great place to visit.

Lovely area with upmarket bars and restaurants and some great shops. Very relaxed atmosphere, no drunks just people enjoying night out. Slightly older crowd.

Nice surrounding for a little/ big walk and choose one of the terasses or restaurants for a lunch with beautiful view on the ocean.

We visited over the weekend and the area was packed with people and there were plenty of things to do. Photographers were kept very busy!

Worth a visit, on of the areas most iconic landmarks. Next to the Playa de Maspalomas, near some cafes and the Lopesan hotel. must see if on holiday.

We stayed at the Faro hotel for a week in May. We have stayed near Maspalomas in villas before, but decided on a hotel break for a week. We arrived at the airport & took a taxi to the hotel which cost around 45 euros & took about 45 minutes. We stayed on the 3rd. floor & had a great... More

Last time we were here, there was a rough car park, some camel rides and the dunes. Things have changed a bit! We came to Faro del Maspalomas most days and found a great variety of restaurants both on the beach side (El Senador) and the shopping mall side (El Churrasco, Grand Italia) and bars (19th Hole). All were high... More
