This viewpoint is always nice to walk to across the beach. The lighthouse itself is not accessible to the public but there are several shops around - as well as the usual parade of eateries - which keep you amused for a little while. Nice to promenade.

This used to be surrounded by scrubland, but is now the hub of a well- designed promenade and leisure area. A perfect place to have coffee at the Cafe de Paris( give in to temptation and have an almond'mazarina' pastry) . On a windy day watch the surfer boys -exhilerating or the motionless street entertainers all trying to out do... More

When in Gran Canaria, we Always visit the Faro. Great views, some good restaurants nearby and views of the paseo Meloneras and the dunes of Maspalomas.

A nice well maintained area for a stroll in a posh looking area we can't say much more than that. Not allot of food choice in the area.

A lighthouse at Meloneras-Maspalomas is a convinient landmark for travellers driving towards the famous dunes. There are quite a few restaurants, cafés and bars in the vicinity of the lighthouse.

This is a great place to stroll along the long walk way which runs along the dramatic coast line. Great shops with an indoor shopping mall and great coffee shops and restaurants. The bus station services the whole island as well as a good supply of Taxis

the FARO is just a lighthouse but the surrounding area is nice; for me the area of the dunes is nice (for a few minutes); it's just a beach with an amazing amount of sand! and a lot of nudists!, whereas the area on the opposite side of the faro has a lovely seafront promenade for a about 3 kms... The lighthouse is well maintained, and the area is very clean and tidy. There was a microlight flying around the lighthouse when we were there which added a bit of interest. There are some very nice bars and cafes in this area which seemed a bit more upmarket than on the beachfront.

This area is very nice and within it are some lovely restaurants & shops. It can be quite pricy compared to the other resorts, but is certainly more classy than Puerto Rico/Playa Del Ingles, etc. I would recommend either evening or day, as a more relaxed alternative.
