Winding streets and the most beautiful houses you can imagine with geraniums and cacti on every window-ledge and in each ornate doorway. If you tire en route to the top there are bars discretely placed for rehydration. Although there's a cafe bar at the very top it can become congested in high season and that affects service. Forget that though:... More

It is worth going to Tossa just to be there ... you can walk up the castle where you will get astounding views of the sea and the Costa Brava cliffs.

It's quite a climb, but a great view of the beach and town when you reach the top. Tossa has a lot left of the old town, including the walls and castle The Faro would also be interesting when it is open from Easter.

nice views from the top and off the battlements, plenty of nice places to eat or drink inside the castle but be aware prices are more expensive in there.

We arrived in Tossa de Mar by bus from Barcelona, a 90 minute drive. Since we traveled in Winter, there were only three people on the bus! We arrived in the town and quickly found our way to the beautiful beach and the castle that looks over the water. We spent several hours winding our way up the hill, took... More

In my opinion, Tossa de Mar is the most outstanding part of Costa Brava if you are interested not only in great sunbathing but also in medieval history and architecture. The Tossa Castle is a fortified part of the town which dates to the XIIth - XIIIth centuries and still remains in perfect condition open to visitors free of charge.... More

If you're anywhere near Tossa de Mar, don't miss the hilltop castle. Easy enough climb up and down, amazing views from the top. And free! Bar at the top of hill was closed when we went.

This is definitely a must see if you are in the area. Nice views on the sea and town, nice atmosphere. Most of the buildings are at least 700 years old. We took a boat from Lloret, which costs 15 eur for the return ticket. There are quite nice views from the sea.

We were staying in Lloret de Mar and took the short boat trip to Tossa de Mar. The boat let us off right on the beach and you can see the castle up on the hill . The scenery is magnificent when you climb up to the castle which is not too steep and the views of Tossa are breathtaking.... More
