We found this site on the way down to the beach from the bus station. Although small, the villa was an interesting find. The intricacy of the mosaics is worth looking at and in each area, there is a information stand explaining the purpose of each room and how it would be used thousands of years ago. It was a... More

The ruins of the roman villa from 2000 years ago are well worth a visit. The site is small but the way they have preserved the ruins and the mosaics needs to be viewed, The lower level is nothing much, but a walk to the upper level lets one see what a splendid building it must have been, with grand... These ruins give an insight into the history of this wonderful area. Although relatively small they are well preserved and well explained. Enjoyed this attraction.

This village is amazing - you can see the swimming pool and the mosaic tile floors is still in tact. Takes you back 2000 years! A must see when you visit Tossa.

An important site that needs so much more care. The idea of conservation seems to have been abandoned, many minor problems. It might just be that the local government cannot afford maintenance. I can see this gem decaying through neglect. On a positive note, it is free to visit and a couple of hours here and at the chapel opposite... More

The mosaics at this location are nice, and spur up an imagination of what Tossa was like so many years ago. However, the area is in need of a bit of upkeep. Weeds are in patches and some benches are dirty. The signs also needed repair. However, it is free to visit this location, so I would recommend it.

It is a shame that the site looks unkempt. The information boards need redoing, weeds growing on site. Steps on one area are broken

What a fantastic historical place, the vill was occupied for over 7 centuries and contained both farming and fishing equipment as well as a beautifully appointed house with ornamental gardens. The upkeep is dreadful and as an avid historian its heart-breaking to see something as important as this site being allowed to decay slowly away, if they aren't going to... More

It's not often you get to walk around a 2000 year old Roman Villa for free but you can here. The lower level appears to be just a few stones in a field but climb the few steps to the upper level and the preservation is superb. There are pictures and descriptions all around showing what it would have looked... More

Given that this is a prime archaeological site on the Costa Brava, I'm surprised that there's no entrance fee. Likewise, I'm surprised how difficult it was to get any information about it. The tourist office, 200m up the road, had a leaflet in German but nothing in English. Thankfully, my German is good enough to understand the basics. Worth a... More
