this was our favorite beach in the whole of costa brava. we travelled from lloret de mar by bus, a nice 15 minute ride which takes you up on a nice hill overlooking great views. beach is glorious, was very quiet, with a great backdrop of the castle. nice restaurants along the sea front :)

Beach is beautiful, water is clear and of nice refreshing temperature, it is getting deep after cca 5m. Send is a little rough so I quite injured my toes while was walking by the sea for 10min. The good beach bar is missing, also some quiet music.

Water was too cold to get in when I was there but the beach is glorious. The sand is more like small pebbles than the sand at home in Texas so it wasn't sticky. Love it!

We loved it, plenty of people enjoying it,mainly families, grandchildren loved the waves on two blow up rings but Sand is a bit like fish tank gravel and a bit rough on the feet.. It's ideal, right at the side of the town, cafés etc (ice creams) restaurants

Lovely beach but crowded with chavvy tourists in Union Jack shorts or football shirts shouting at their kids. Not a relaxing place at all in peak season but this is down to fellow Brits not the locals. The restaurants along this beach mainly offer British grub ie chicken and chips or everything else with chips and no nice local food... More

The beach is very interesting: nice rocks, great castle, neighberhood of old town - so excellent to take some unforgetable pictures. But the beach is also crowdy and there are Bug waives what is not convenient for children. And of course neverending problem with parking. In general Tossa is too crowdy and full of budget tourists.

The area around the beach is nice, but the beach is quite small and gets crowded. Also the sand is very coarse and is uncomfortable to walk on. I can recommend some kind of shoes to make it more comfortable to walk the beach, but shoes will be filled with small stones after a short while.

The beach has a lovely backdrop of a view of the castle of Tossa and is picturesque. There’s plenty of beach and sea to grab a place and take a swim. The beach is NOT sand and is quite rough, more like little stones you would find in fish tanks, it does take some getting used to or just have... More

Located in lovely Tossa de Mar, the Gran Platja is a jewel. It has a medieval Castle at one of the edges and splendid beach. The waves are invigorating, the water is clean, and the beach crowd is normal with lots of families and groups of friends. A relaxing site without too much stress. Access is easy, and we were... Gorgeous beach, not too busy. Clean sand, lovely sea although beware, it does get deep quickly. Beautiful views of hundreds of little boats bobbing and the old fort.
