as a castles lover I don't mind climbing to visit one! The access to the castle of Leiria is not very good for people with walking difficulties! Once up there you will enjoy the beautiful view over the city and further.

This amazing castle gives Leiria a great charm. In a good state of conservation you can enjoy a beautiful landscape from the city. Very relaxing to bring your family, or as a romantic place.

If you think you have seen everything about castles, you really should go to Leiria. Once you are at the spot you have plenty of information, concerning what to see, with detail. So you must keep on climbing till you reach the Torre de Menagem. From there you´ll have the most beautiful sight into Leiria and till tou reached that... More

The view over the city from the castelo is nice. The entry is normally 2.10€ (students 1.05€) per person. On the day we visited it, it was free of charge. The woman at the entrance didn't speak English but she said that it's free today.

If you've never visited a mostly-ruined castle before, you'll love it. If you have seen lots of castles, it's not especially interesting. However, you can get an excellent view of all directions, as it's the highest point in the town.

This Castle is beautiful from the outside. From anywhere in the City you can see it. Seeing it from North it is a different castle than from south. The same from east and west.Seems 4 castles in 1. From the inside you get 360 views from all the region. Explore the old and preserved areas. It is worth it.

Medieval Castel of Leiria. The Castle of Leiria is remains as a symbol of the city, and on the inside of his impressive walls, it keeps the traces of the different stages who are going from military fortress until a royal palace. It is more a ruin in very good conditions than a castle, but is has surprised me in... More

Such an amazing place, so many places for great photos. I most enjoyed the picturesque views from the arches, overlooking The rooftops below the hill. Easy to get to and not a bad walk at all.
