Are you dreaming of a real authentic adventure? Longing for silence and tranquility?Do you wonder how it feels relaxing outside your tent, after spending a full day exploring one of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, using the most environmental friendly means of transport ever – the kayak? If you long for some of the above you should check out Njord. We have been guiding people in the outdoors since 1999, given thousands of customers a great day out – or the adventure of a lifetime – kayaking the beatiful fjords of Norway.Western Norway is the area for our activities. Njord specialize in kayak and wilderness adventures, in the fjords and by the North Sea coastline. We have bases in Flåm and – if you are in for a real adventure – the amazing archipelago of Bulandet. For the last years, we have set the standard for adventure tourism in Norway, building a happy and competent crew to give our customers the best of service. Our philosophy is that our main product is everlasting and positive vacation memories. We only recruit guides that have considerable knowledge about nature and safety, a structured mind and the positive spirit that is the core value of the company. We are concerned with the nature that surrounds us and have a philosophy of leaving no trace of our journey. The only thing we leave behind is ripples in the water. We have on offer shorter 3-4 hour tours, multiday tours, rentals and kayak courses from beginners to advanced level. We have a flexible and adaptable organisation and are fully focused on providing the best service possible to our customersWe have a policy of training and employing local guides. We aim to have at least 50% local guides and instructors. Every season we have several local youths in as trainee guides. All Njord Guides are either qualified trough the Norwegian Paddle Association (NPF), British Canoe Union (BCU) or American Canoe Union (ACA).All guides have been taking part in our Guide Training Programme. This programme focus on; Safety issues; Technical kayaking skills; Customer relations; Guide skills; Local culture and history; Environmental awareness. All our guides have a valid First Aid qualificationNjord invites you to join the adventure and feel free to ask us questions or share your experiences with our company, either via Facebook, Trip Advisor, Twitter or email.

Initially, I was concerned about going with an unknown group on my own but there was a really good selection of people ranging from a couple of families to several other young singles. The trip was well managed. We covered the safety aspects on the first day and then got going through the fjord. The views are truly spectacular and... More

This by far was one of the best tours of the fjords I have been on. The boat was immaculate and the crew, top rate. They were helpful, courteous and friendly. They took the time to show us all the special things along the way... giving us time for photos... Loved it.

Never responded to emails and when we turned up to see them on site the guy was very rude and wouldn't even let us join the group that had spaces. Wouldn't recommend them.

We booked this tour just the day before we wanted to go. We met at the beach and our guide (I think her name was Marta, from Poland) took us through a concise, but not long winded safety brief. Then we were on the water. The scenery is amazing and the water is so calm. We kayaked for about an... More

Took the 4 hour kayak/ hike tour last week. The weather was beautiful and the water was calm and our guide was perfect! She was originally from Poland, had great knowledge of the area and was the model guide. The scenery just can't be beat and we had a very wildlife encounters as well! The hike is easy and the... This was the main feature of a 10 day tour of Norway I took with 3 friends, and it was definitely the best part of the trip! We took a 3 day kayak tour through the fjords starting in Flam and ending in Gudvangen. It was beautiful and epic in every way. Our guide Liselotte was awesome! She knew a... More

5 guys, 5 days, 1 excellent guide and more fjord than you can shake a paddle at. We'd been looking forward to our trip for the whole of summer, a chance to get away from the madness of London, see some of the world's most epic scenery and maybe even get a bit fitter. This trip did not disappoint. On... More

Wife and I and boys (14 and 17) took 4 hour old kings trip with guide Erika. Good way to get an intro to the history of the area and to appreciate the enormity of the fjord's rock walls. Erika was friendly and knowledgeable, though new to the area. This trip is for all levels of kayakers, including beginners, so... More
