The old town and port of Ebeltoft is an absolute gem, full of old Danish charm and character. Adjacent to the harbour stands the Glass Museum. I have been several times to Ebeltoft and must have walked past this museum many times without any inclination to enter - big mistake! I am so glad that my recent visit included entry... More

As it was the only rainy day, we sought refuge here. With our four year old granddaughter we were prepared for a brief visit. Four hours later we emerged, full of memories and sights. The works here are different, interesting, colourful, and very creative. Our granddaughter really enjoyed many aspects, as you can touch many exhibits, and some are interactive.... More

Nice exhibition and very interesting pieces on show. You can also watch a glassmaker creating objects. The shop has a wide range of handmade glassobjects.

This was a fantastic experience. Much more than expected. This little local museum shows the whole history of glass-art. It includes works of artists from the whole world. At the end a visit to the museum shop is a must. There are many small treasures.

The Glasmuseet Ebeltoft has a wonderful setting on the harbor in Ebeltoft, less than an hour drive from Aarhus. It's a fairly small museum with works by well known artists of many nationalities. Perhaps the best exhibit is a room filled with works by Steffen Dam, a local artist, who does interesting works that look like jellyfish and fossils encased... More

It is always great to see fine glass exhibited for us anyway. The permanent collection bears the price while the seasonal exhibitions change somewhat in quality. The shop is quite equipped with fine glasses to buy. Now they even have a small lunch / tea and coffee / ice-creams for sale...

Ebeltoft is famous for the glassmuseum, so we thought it was a must-see in Ebeltoft. I think the museum was interesting to see, but there was also some of the glass that was very outdated. There is a lot of craft and not that much spectacular art, which you hope to see in a museum. The surroundings is really nice,... More

Not only is Ebeltoft an incredibly beautiful, warm and friendly old village, but the Glasmuseet is an astonishing place. Not only does it have an incredible international collection of contemporary art glass, but it is an excellent learning center to understand the artform. Having grown up in Upstate New York, I am very familiar with Corning Glassworks, and loved going... More

Denmark is known for its many glass workshops. You find at least one in every town, and you can watch the glassblowers work and buy their products. This is also the case in Ebeltoft. In addition, however, you have this museum where you have to pay 85 Danish kroner (EUR 11.50) too see exactly the same, just in a crummier... More
