I visited Het Zwin at countless occasions. As living in Knokke it is at our doorstep. It is rare to find such a nice piece of nature so close to human habitation. It is a perfect place to watch birds. But it is also a great place to walk and come to rest. In summertime it can be rather crowded.

... will never mean a piece of land never touched by humans - you won't have a thing like that in this part of the world. But the authorities did an excellent in re-creating woodlands, meadows and a dune landscape where you had a military airport a few decades ago. The very heart of Het Zwin close to the Dutch... More

We've been here a few times, and if you're there for a coffee, i advise the house coffee (coffee t zwin) as it's really good value for it's price. We've had a light menu here and it was all very tasty - don't expect haute cuisine and you can have a really nice small lunch here.

The parc itself is not that great, but you get to visit the creek and the beach giving an unique oportunity to see some wading birds such as the avocet, godwit, storks and herons.

I went to Het Zwin last weekend (16 August 2013) but it is still closed and under renovation. It used to be a nice place but indeed needed some renovation. Unfortunately it is still closed. However, the neighbourhood is lovely for biking so that's what we did with the whole family.

It is not because I live here, that I have to praise it, but the Zwin is a wonderful piece of nature between Knokke (Belgium) and Sluis/Cadzand (The Netherlands). All sorts of birds nest here or make a stop during migration. They are reorganise it at the moment, but it will be more ecologically friendly afterwards. You have walking paths... More

We were disappointed to be told by the Tourist Information in Sluis that the nature reserve Het Zwin is still under renovation. It would be re-opened on August 18th. However there is plenty to do in the area. Lovely walks along the clean beaches. A visit to the Mill in Retranchement perhaps, or a 5 km walk along the ramparts... More

Great spot for a good walk along the beach or to swim if you are brave enough to endure the chill of the north sea.

We visited Het Zwin umerous times in the past. At the moment part of the domain is closed and most of the bird cages are empty. Het Zwin will be thoroughly reorganised the next few months. Probably it is again worthwhile visiting as of early 2014.

Many birds and cheap (2 euros). Right now (march 2013) there are some renovation. So the entrance is free.
