We visited the church before it was consecrated in 2012 and we were lucky enough to be invited in to see the work being carried out just before the consecration ceremony. People were so proud of the new building and quite rightly so, it is a remarkable piece of modern architecture especially given everything was sourced locally. The old church... More

Situated on the banks of River Periyar at Malayattoor. Church is in the name of St. Thomas (disciple of Jesus Christ) who visited India during the First Century. Beautiful place. Kurisady is situated on top of a hill about 2 Kilometers from this church.

Malayattor church is one of the important churches in Kerala.It attracts thousands of visitors every year.There is a full size statue of St Thomas.Imprint of the aposte is also found in a rock preserved there.The main festival is on first sunday after easter every year.Malayattor perunnal,the annual festival is celebrated in months of April and may.Thousand of pilgrims will climb... Last week, we 3 friends were planning for a short trekking trip. While searching for such a spot in our neighbourhood, came across this place, where people from all around kerala visits as pilgrims.
