The master tasting costs R60/pp but it is well worth it! The standard tasting is sometimes rushed, overcooked and just impersonal. With the master tasting you go to the back to sit at a table and get personal attention with the cheeses and wine paired. Also note that you get the Estate wines and not the cheap stuff.

Fairview wine state is also known in South Africa by its cheese. At the premisses one can do a wine and cheese tasting for R25.

Next to Spice-Route, this wine farm has everything you need to keep you happy. A wide selection of cheeses (tasting can be done) and wine (tasting can be done). Children can be left with the goats while you enjoy some cheese and wine.

We popped by just after 12 on a Sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing! We did the 6 wine tasting followed by a cheese tasting. We loved the fact that you can choose from 15+ wines for the tasting and could fine something different than the standard cultivars. This is a great stop!

So much to do here. Brilliant wine tasting venue, ample parking, great wines, spacious inside the tasting area. Then the cheese tasting area with the most wonderfull aray of localy made cheeses. A full on restaurant on the farm and then the goats to keep the kids busy. Great attraction

We were recommended this restaurant by some local friends and loved it. The service was great, the atmosphere relaxing and easy, but most importantly the food was amazing. We actually came back again to enjoy their amazing selection of cheeses.

There are so many wonderful wineries in South Africa that I try not to make repeat visits, but I make an exception for Fairview. Great atmosphere, wide range of food choices, and the wines are terrific. Spend the extra money for the tasting that pairs eight wines and cheeses. The setting for that is gorgeous, and you learn much more... More
