Was a bit pressed for time so did a standard wine and cheese tasting. For only R30 you can taste 6 wines and 6/7 cheeses. This is very reasonable and so enjoyable. The cheeses and wines are delicious, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the shop is just full of all sorts of delicious things other than cheese, like... More

Our guide was able to get a reservation for us in the Beryl Back Tasting Room, rather than in the main tasting area. This room is beautifully furnished and has views of wine barrels. The staff put together a wonderful pairing of wines and cheeses for us. This area is limited to smaller groups - so it feels like your... More

Fairview is a favourite of mine. It's well worth doing the premium tasting. You are led to a beautiful room at the back. Big windows, one side the wine cellar, the other side a beautiful courtyard. You are seated all together around a beautiful table. They provide cold water and fresh bread with olive oils to dip. A sommelier takes... More

Unfortunately this was a fleeting visit as I had a plane to catch, but the range of cheese's,breads and wine were a clear favorite with the large crowd who were there, and really was well worth the trip.

Make enough time available for this visit. Have a picnic with produce from the farm or just have a wine or cheese tasting, or combine the two (recommended). Casual or formal wine tasting and sommeliers available to explain everything. Just savouring the view will make you relax like nothing else. The goats and farm animals is a big attraction for... Fairview is a favourite with many. We popped in for a late lunch so were shown a table immediately as the rush was over. Great craft beer on tap, friendly service and good enough food. My mushroom risotto was rather mushy but with the veg it made for a filling meal. My partner enjoyed the special of the day Springbok... More

Fairview is a must visit when visiting the Western Cape. Besides the great wines and superb deli offering goats cheese and many other delicacies, the Goatshed restaurant is a true favourite. A good selection of food with a local flavour. We had the special of the day, lamb shank with mash. A very generous portion with rich flavours.

Grounds here are picturesque. They have goats in the front and other historic items around property. Wine and tasting is only R30 per person for 6 wines and accompanied cheeses. Wine was very good; staff knowledgeable and friendly. Nice to have combo with cheese vs just wine. Great location because another vineyard is close by.

I came here as part of a wine tour of the region, and it was by far the most disappointing experience of the day. Unlike the other vineyards I visited I did not get any sense of passion for wine from this place; I got the sense of a farm shop, wanting to sell you anything and everything. The tasting... More
