It is history.
It was undergoing renovation during our two visits, maybe is still renvated now. It needs to rehabilitate from the dreadful past and live its full life.

The Solovetsky monastery is truely enchanting. I love the location, the light, the wind, the singing monks... BEAUTIFUL!
It is a holy place for the Russian church. I would have loved to know more about the traditions, history and rituals I saw people performing there. Unfortunately, no information in english. Read a book after the visits, but would have loved...
