I saw the whole area from the Hurtigrute ferry, and it was staggeringly beautiful. I would addvise anyone to go, summer or winter just for the sheer unrivalled beauty of the islands and the mountains

We arrived on a wet Saturday night ! Sundays in Svolvaer are VERY low key, with only Cafes open. However, on Monday (with a hire car) we were able to visit Henningvaer - a beautiful place with a scenic road to it

Cosy capital of Svolvær. Numerous fish restaurants.Ideal place as a base for outdoor activities. This is one of the best places to observe the Aurora Borealis.
