We discovered this church by coincidence. It was hidden behind a little door and once you step inside it was simply amazing. Decorated from top to bottom with beautiful paintings and carvings. A must see when in Lindos. They have scarves that you can borrow if you are not properly dressed. Just to cover up bare shoulders, belly or legs... More

It doesn't look like much from outside at all. In fact, we walked past it several times without realising what it was. When you're inside, it's a completely different story. The artwork is spectacular; there isn't a square inch that isn't covered. I could have stayed in here all day quite easily. It's a hidden gem. It's nothing like any... More

Magnificent white church, with stunning religious painting all over the inside. Note you'll need to borrow a sarong for modesty if you're wearing shorts. Definitely must visit

This church is easy to miss on the main street through Lindos. It looks just like another small Greek church with narrow entrance and fastidious warden forcing you to don the available "modesty robes". Put them on though, for the Byzantine wall paintings inside the church are beautiful and one of the best sights in this stunning village.

Just the most beautiful little church with the most amazing frescoes depicting the bible from genesis through to revelations, Almost like a mini Sistine chapel. We could have spent hours just gazing so breathtaking it would be a shame to miss it on the way up to the acropolis

We wandered into this plain little white church, with no idea of the amazing sight which was to meet our eyes. Every surface of the walls, ceiling and floor is covered in the most elaborate and beautiful art work, glistening with gold. Shorts are not allowed, but there is a good supply of blankets and stuff to cover bare legs... More

Don't fail to visit this church if you are in Lindos as it is a gem. It is 14th century and has wonderful wall to wall frescoes and an equally wonderful pebbled hochlaki floor. Photography is not permitted and you have to be properly attired to enter the church but a basket of covering clothing is available.

Situated in the middle of the labyrinth of Lindos alleys, it's easy to find due to the Campanile or Bell Tower towering above the white stone structure of the church. It's surrounded by high walls and a small courtyard and was originally built in 1300 but has since had many reconstructions. The visual impact of the interior will take you... More

It's free to enter- although an old crime prevents women entering unless modestly clad. Blokes were not stopped from going in with shorts on, though. The orthodox style painting, that covers every square inch of the interior walls were stunning. Definitely worth an half hour's inspection. Just make sure the ladies have something to cover up with!
