This church is very small but the inside walls and roof are completely covered in amazingly beautiful paintings of biblical scenes. It's unbelievable the amount of work that went into them. Photography is not allowed inside the church though. If you are a woman and your shorts are "too short" there is an old lady sitting outside the church and... more

If you are in Lindos village, be sure to visit the Panagia church, which is decorated with hundreds of elaborate Byzantine-style frescoes. It's unbelievably ornate. Especially interesting is the portrait of a dog-headed St. Christopher. Photography is not permitted inside the church, but you can buy postcards in the extensive shopping area outside. more
