what a view from the top!

amazing views from the top - especially the St.Pauls beach view. Acropolis itself - nothing very special if you have already been in Athens acropolis,

Visiting in mid April, the weather was perfect but the crowds had not yet arrived. The walk up to the Acropolis was lovely with new vistas appearing at each turn. My husband rode a donkey up, which was excellent value and good fun, especially if you find walking difficult. The ruins are atmospheric and the views breathtaking. This would be... More

Dad (in his 80's) took a donkey taxi while we walked up to the Acropolis but unfortunately when we arrived up there discovered a very steep flight of 80 plus stone steps to the top of the citadel which he did not feel able to cope with. This therefore considerably restricted his ability to take in the fantastic structure and... More

Lots and lots of steps. You need to make sure you are in good shape. I'm 77 and made it, but I was tired ....so glad that I did this. I had done this 15 years ago. Great view. Lots of venders along the path. We had an excellent tour guide which is the best way to see Greece. They... More

if you like ancient temples, this is a wonderful one, right on the top of a high hill (a few steps up). Although it has been 'improved' by the Italians in the '30s, steps are now being taken to remedy the work done then. A lovely site and a lovely sight from the top.

It is quite a climb up to the Acropolis but you can pay to go on a donkey. I didn't think the donkeys had a very happy time though. A lot of the old buildings have been rebuilt rather than restored. Very busy but amazing views out to sea. A lot to read if you are interested in the history.

Excellent day trip especially if you rent a car. After vising Lindos, we drove along the coast to different villages and just wandered around. We wanted to take the dockey ride up to the Acropolis but they were off duty at 3pm :(. Luckily our 3 year old was able to walk all the way up by herself and back... More

A bit of a trek, but take the camera it's well worth it. The views were amazing. If you don't fancy the hike up the hill, jump on a Donkey in the town square and ride up.

Strongly recommend this side visit when you go to Rhodes. A real delight and a great break from the city. The walk is not hard, though many use the donkey's which in itself is an experience. The views are outstanding and the fortress and inside ruins are fascinating. Plenty of shopping and places to eat in Lindos itself.
