The Acropolis is ok (great views) but in my opinion, a very long, exhausting walk for such a limited experience. You will get some nice pictures but I felt sorry for those poor overworked Donkeys and as a walk is the only other way up to the top you better prepare yourself and take water with you.

Easily reached by public transport from Rhodes Town (€5), the first site of Lindos and its acropolis comes at the appropriately named ooh aah corner just before the bus stop. In winter, when we visited, there is a bit of a hike down the pretty (although shut) village of Lindos and then an uphill hike with many steps to the... More

Located at the top of the village of Lindos. We went quite early because we wanted to visit the whole of Lindos, wasn't as busy as we first thought which was quite nice. It's €6 to get in and it's well worth it! There's a lot of steps but once you get to the top the view is just breath... More

Plenty of photo opportunities here, with bits of masonry from occupation covering thousands of years. It costs 5 euros to get a lift up or down on a donkey. If you walk up there's an amazing collection of embroidered table linen spread out on the rocks by the path and sold by local women on fine days.

Well worth the walk up, if you are challenged by the steps use the donkey route, smelly but less steep. The display information was good and the views spectacular

Make sure you arrive either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Ticket costs 6 euros. 301 steps in total. Great views to Saint Paul's bay. One of the many acropolis of the island of Rhodes.

Three years ago we visited and went up to the acropolis on the donkeys. I was enjoying the visit when and I tripped and twisted my ankle so badly the paramedics and firemen had to carry me down! So this visit was unfinished business... This time we walked up to the top. I would make it clear that the steps... More

BIG climb involved, unless you want to hire a donkey to take you up the hill! Once you're there, it's really worth the effort to experience the site. Take care on the steps and marble paving - I know it sounds obvious but we saw someone fall quite hard down uneven stairs. Don't think the Ancients went in for Health... More

Really amazing to see the old ruins of the medieval ages and antique Greece. Almost too hot (with about 45 degrees celcius) but an experience to be had.
