Stunning views from the top, its a bit of a climb, but there is always the option of going by Donkey. To begin leaving the square you pass through some charming shops cafes and restaurants. as you rise higher the shops drop off and there are some greek women selling lace. when you have passed these you reach the castle... It's not that the journey to the Acropolis is too long or too steep it's just that the pathway is very jagged and uneven so make sure you wear sensible shoes and not flip-flops - you need a little grip that's for sure. Once at the top it appears a bit crowded but once you get past the bottleneck everyone... More

Worth while climbing up to the top but make sure you were suitable footwear as the path is narrow and you meet a lot of other people on their way down with donkeys close on your heels. View from the top is amazing.

Brilliant Acropolis to visit.. Parking can be difficult in mid summer. Donkey rides are available but we decided to walk.. Very hilly but views and scenery are stunning when you reach the top... It's an easy walk down though..

The Acropolis is at the top of the hill overlooking the town and can be accessed by a steep path and steps. You do have the option to take a donkey but I declined on the basis that the track is quite slippery in places and the poor donkeys who had been carrying passengers up and down all day were... More

There is most certainly rich history here, many cultures have made their marks in this area and you can get a sense of all of them. The views are spectacular and you're right by the beaches and the village to boot! Great outing!

Not for the out of breath as there is a lot of steep walking to get to the top. However it is well worth it.

Amazing bit of history. Worth reading up about the acropolis before visiting. Best to visit early or late in the day to avoid the busy times. EXPENSIVE small cafe at the entrance to the acropolis. Take a drink with you rather than pay the 200% increase in price.

Go early! We arrived at 8 and wandering through an empty Lindos early morning lets you see what it would have been like before the tourist explosion. The views are amazing and the history very interesting. The. Entry fee is 6 Euros. There are no safety rails so young children need to be watched. It starts to get crowded by... More
