From Cáceres you can visit both Trujillo and the Monastery in Guadalupe in a day. A rental car would be best. The scenery and countryside are beautiful, and it is a wonderful drive.

I did not expect to find such beauty in an out of the way monastery. The trip to the monastery was really worth it.
The Camarin of the Virgin was very impressive with all the paintings and sculptures that show strong women of the Bible. There is a turntable that the guide turned and this showed the statue of the...

We've been in Guadelupe in october 2006 to see the black virgin in the church of the royal monastery. We thougt it was better to go there in autumn, because in the summer holidays it must be very hot and very crowded. You can see the virgin in the church, but it is very far and behind bars. To see...
