It is all about expectations, so this castle is one of the best one in Slovakia with Bojnice (I loved both - they are very different) but you might want to know a few facts to avoid bad surprises. In winter you pay 6 euros (instead of 5 in summer - strange) but we were only 12 on a Saturday... More

Beautiful Castle with interesting history. If you will be near Orava Castle make sure you will visit it. It has amaizing architecture and history. Tour with guide is about 2 hours long. You will see different parts of castle and there will be opportunity to take some great pictures.

Even from the road you can tell this castle is going to be something special. There is a lot of waking though so wear good shoes. The castle has a mix of museums inside which are really interesting and some amazing views of the near by area.

This castle is definitely one of the most beautiful castles in Slovakia. We visited in December, and we were the only ones there. A ticket is 6 euro, which is quiete high for Slovakian standards. However, the castle is totally worth it. You can only access with a guide, and the app with guide is just wonderful, do not forget... More

Castle is really nice, with unique atmosphere. But it's pity that not everything is accessible to visitor.

First it is a long visit with a Slovak speaking guide (the text in English is very short). The visit in itself was not very interesting. Most of the furniture is made of copies or from the 19th/20th centuries, etc. The castle looks good on photos from the outside as it is quite impressive but that's all.

Orava Hrad is a must see. The castle has a long interesting history and is in great condition. Some of the rooms are furnished and others are set up as a museum. There are lots of stairs to get right up to the top but nothing too taxing. The castle can only be entered as part of a guided tour.... More
