Lovely, unexpected gem!

The place seems cool but it's closed this time of year which was not clear from their website at all.

We made the mistake of going on November 2 and ended up in a Halloween festival swarmed with kids. They were having a fabulous time, but the houses were locked up and we didn't get to see anything.

Bokrijk is something you have to do once in your life. I've been here more than once. It's nice to see how the houses were before.

It would take a book to describe this open air museum. Complete villages dating fromm1700 too1900 have been reconstructed with original farm houses, they were taken into pieces and reconstructed in the museum. During the summer period the villages are maned by trained volunteers performing the work and crafts of that time. All houses are equipped with furniture from a... More

Came across Bokrijk by accident and didn't really know what it was. Very pleased we found it. A lovely museum set out as a traditional village. Spent the whole day wandering from house to house, lots of interesting things to look at and interesting information. Even our 12 and 9 year olds found it interesting to read all or the... More

Bokrijk is a shadow of its former glory. Buildings are dilapidated with paint peeling off the windmill, staff are demotivated and half the activities seem suspended. In addition to that they charge you 5 euro extra for every activity your kids want to participate in. Felt ripped off by a bunch of fake famers in clumps.

I've been there a few times with my family. It is a very beautiful place, with nature all around, you can make beautiful walks, ride a horse, ride a bike, etc. Do you have facilities like restrooms and cafeterias / restaurant. I suggest you to take all day to enjoy beautiful moments

Bokrijk had been recommended by colleagues. We arrived around three without any idea of what to expect. There is lots to see and we did not have enough time. Make sure to go early and be prepared to spend the day. Make sure to bring cash as most of the eateries and shops do not accept cards. There is something... More

If you are in the neighbourhood and you enjoy a little history, then you should definitely visit this museum. But museum isn't quite the right term. Because it is in the first place a huge nature-park. In the park there are 3 villages reconstructed all from different era's. It's like a time-machine experienced, because you can see real live day... More
