It was excellent weather, so we had a fun day out. But I can imagine that it's much less fun when it rains. I love the nature at Bokrijk, it's great to just walk arround. Even if you don't visit the houses.

We went there on Friday afternoon. There were little tourists. We were able to walk at leisure under good weather. The houses and contents on display were interesting - appeared to be authentic. We were assured all displays were in their respective original state but physically moved and reconstructed there. In certain locations we saw staff stressed in period costumes... More

I have been there several times, the first time when i was i child an later in my teens and adult life. This is a very interesting park, if you are eager to learn and see how people lived in Flanders a few hunderds of years ago. I must say that that rally needs a patch up (but as usaual... More

We took the train from Hasselt to Genk, got off in Bokrijk and spent all afternoon wondering a winter wonderland. Beautiful surroundings, green, good for families.

Bokrijk is more than just the museum. (museum ONLY open from April until October) http://www.bokrijk.be/nl/praktisch-info.php There are also several large park areas to walk / jog around, very nice in the summer for the families to go to the play area for the children of all ages. The so called open air museum is closed!!! It's mentioned everywhere in the city about this attraction, but only in one place on there website and at the gate of the museum few hundred meters inside the park that it's closed during winter, need to give more info. Other than that the park and plants are very nice.

It's at 2 kilometers from home. So we go there often with bicycle. Nice place to sit in the sun. But i wouldn't pay 5 € for a parking place.

Just great to be walking and discovering the old houses, to meet the actors dressed like 200 or more years before... The must is to get dressed like this and let the local photographer take a family portrait with its old camera. The kids loved the tour on the chariot and the old games. The restaurant has a nice terrace... More

Ideal place to go with children, very big play garden, nice restaurant 'Koetshuis" and many more, open air museum..... by good weather you can do a pick-nick on one of the big fields.
