They archeological history as well as history of the settlers

Interesting to see the history of the area as much as they are able to present. It is obviosly a work in progress, but well worth the visit!

I always stop by every year to buy honey and oohs and visit the museum. This is a work of love, which deserves our support, BI has lots of really great history and stories, don't miss the Museum

I have been going to Block Island for years and have never been before this year. It was a nice place to break up the day from going to the beach and shopping. I would suggest for any history lover.

2 floors of artifacts detailing Block Island's history: Native American life before white settlers came, life while sailing on the high seas in past centuries, early settler life plus rooms devoted to native flora and fauna all tied together with a strong thread of islander conservation efforts. The exhibits contained a lot of items all of which were HUGELY interesting.... More

It's a great destination to keep in mind for a rainy day, but if you.dont have rain, go one day anyway. Drop by early in the week and see what the hours are during your stay. It's just a 4 dollar admission, pretty cheap as things go on the island. Learn a little about your surroundings, and appreciate where you... More

They lured us there by having an Arts & Crafts fair with artists charging an arm & a leg for typical touristy "art", then wanted to charge people $6.00 admission

I really enjoyed this museum, they have a full history of events on the island. They have a lot of old pictures of the island and they young lady working that day was very pleasant and refreshing to speak with. Rainy day or sunny is a good time to visit for an hour or so. The day I visited there... More

Moldy smell and unattended. Really wanted to get a feel for the island history but couldn't breath. We wandered around for a few minutes and as we were leaving someone approached us for an admission fee. Love supporting American historical museums but this place needs some refreshing.
