My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here the other day, Kelly and Andrew were fantastic even surprising us with a balloon and card (very sweet of them). I had the belly pork which is the best I have ever had and my husband had the monkfish tail which was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to... More

We came for beer and so sat downstairs in very traditional-looking bar with 11 hand pumps and that priceless commodity - a barman who knew what he was talking about when it came to real ale. So many times I've asked a member of a bar staff a question about the beers and often the response is "I don't know."... More

We looked at the reviews , good and bad and decided to give it a try. As it was a Friday afternoon about three, it was a bit quiet upstairs in the restaurant which for us being a party of four was fine,it meant that we could have a good chat in peace in a nice ambiance. The waitress was... More

Nice, British pub grub! Good sized portions! Menu and setting feels like it's trying to be upper market but some things need tweeking! Waitress although very friendly didn't go that extra mile with offer of condiments! No facility to pay on a card - which we found out after we had eaten! No apology! Also many things on the small... After reading several write ups about Barnett’s @The Isis we decided to give it a try for Saturday lunch. The restaurant is upstairs in the Isis in a very old world type room, full of Sunderland town pics etc. There is not a great deal of tables which I think helps gives a cosy atmosphere. The one waitress was kept... More

Myself and two friends, along with a 5 year old came here today. Food is served at Barnetts restaurant 12-9 and we arrived at around 5 after a trip to the theatre. We had a warm welcome by the waitress, who was serving by herself. We waited around 10 minutes for drinks, considering there was only one other table I... More

You need to try this newly opened restaurant above the Isis pub Sunderland We had a lovely meal. Steak and ale pie with veg and loads of gravy in a gravy boat on the side and Dover sole with lemon butter and caper sauce with veg. All very nicely presented and nice and hot. We couldn't face a sweet however... More
