I visit Heureka several time per year because I live quite near. The permanent exhibition is fine, but the reasons for visits are the great special themes. They are always worth of a visit. The visitors can try a lot of things by themselves and the instructions are in English too. There are also great summer camps for kids and... More

Heureka is located in Vantaa, close to the railway, and a rather easy walk from Tikkurila railway station, but if you are uncertain about directions, it's best to take a cab from there. This place offers great entertainment for the whole family - kids love the exhibits as there's a lot of activity learning - you can press buttons, measure,... More

We visited there at the Kalevala- Day which was very interesting. There were a group of music students to tell us about ancient finnish culture, play some ancient instruments and sing old songs. There were crafts and other interesting stuff for kids. The exhibition of Heureka itself was very interesting, lots of things to see, and whats best - to... More

I have visited Heureka every february since year 1999. Some of the shows are great, and some just awful (f.i.Body worlds, where dead bodies had been cut in all kind of ways and in positions, I think it was unethical at least). It is OK with children until ab 12 years, but after that, dont think of visiting with them until... If you're looking for a place where a whole family can spend a day this is a good option. Lot's of things to do and see for kids and a lot to learn (and see) for adults. They have exhibitions that don't really change (so if you have been here before you've probably seen some of the things) and very... More

If you travel with kids, or just like to explore scient, this is a place to visit. Easy to access with public transport. Train from Helsinki to Tikkurila takes you there in 15-23 minutes. Short walk and fun can begin.

Traveled with two adults and two children. Entrance fee € 70 but after that all is free e.g. coin with own image, gold panning with gold nuggets (if you can find one). Nice family place to visit

Heureka is the Finnish equivalent of a Children´s museum. There you can visit a planetarium, science lab, and various exhibitions, or single-handedly lift a car, if you want. There´s also a flying carpet (well, ok, floating), and rats playing basketball... fun and discoveries for hours!
