Nice stop by to walk and eat

In a sunny summer day a pleasant walk, many good places to eat. If more time restaurant Buttenhof a must Place to have a fine dine. Super Wine selection.

We went today 14/6/15 thinking that it is only a week away from midsummer, so it might be working. But unfortunately it wasn't.

We didn't know what to expect having driven a long way by motorcaravan to view this event. We were not disappointed. Yes, it's fantastic and I would go back again and again! But then I am biased as I love nature and music. This is certainly a great combination of Finlandia and the sheer power of water over rocks. Well... More

Unfortunately, they stopped letting water out in the winter, though I imagine it must have been beautiful. No only 25 June - 26 August as far as I'm aware. But definitely worth seeing if you are in the area

Imatra is a quaint town in Finland, and the waterfall is worth seeing. During summer months at 6 p.m. the flood gates open and the street is filled with music as the water slowly builds to its rushing power. Following the event, people stroll through town to grad dinner, a drink or an ice cream. It's worth the visit!

It is a great waterfall! Very impressive. But You can enjoy it only at 1800-1815 o'clock during summer months. The water falls very powerful. And the music is switched on - different (Sibelius, Nightwish) - depends on the week day.

Awesome power as the they open the flood gates and the water gushers through. It takes amazingly long for the river bottom to fill downstream but boy when it comes it comes with a roaring power. It is cool to see the river bed (bed rock and boulders) fully exposed and then being filled violently with water, huge rapids and... More

The dam is very big and impressive, unfortunately during winter the water doesn't flow through and this is not real waterfall. The other side of the dam is still dry. Seems the waterfalls are open only during summer time at 6PM every day when they release the water

Just great, everybody should see this one at least once in life time. The water show is running every day during summer time around six o'clock.
