We stayed for two weeks at Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure, at Golden Lakes Villages. I gladly give some comments for future travellers. See also the individual reviews on specific tourists sites which we visited, specifically Natura Parc. First, as an introduction: We are a family of five and manage to amuse ourselves well. So no need for animation for the... More

These lakes are not yet very well known in whole Belgium. We discovered these by reading a small article in a local monthly paper. We decided to bike. I recommend the very nice environment. The paths to cycle are very well. The only minor point is the signalization. You have to look very careful to the very little signs. And... More

We visited ahead of our relatives coming to stay so were just checking out the lakes in advance. A fuller review in due course perhaps, but a couple of notes on what we saw. Firstly, the main centre isn't particularly well signposted. The main reception has quite a lot of helpful info though. Unfortunately we opted to take the 'Crocodile... More

I often go to the lakes in order to practice scuba diving. We go there thursday evenings during the summer and usually have dinner after the dive in the evening. The crew can be quite rude but they tend to do a good job and have decent prices. The place can get quite noisy but still enjoyable. You should stop... More

On one of the many public holidays in May, we decided to go here for a nice walk. For anyone's good comprehension, we did not go to Landal and did not use any of the privately owned activities, just wanted to go for a walk...... First of all, the walk around the lake is not too clearly indicated and the... More

First of all, thank you for choosing the lakes for your walk. There are so many paths on the site, at the water's edge, in the woods...The site is very big and it's possible to walk everywhere by avoiding the road. For your next walk, go the to reception center, they give maps for walking (with kids or not...). For... More

We only used the swimming pool complex (we were staying in the adjacent accommodation) and found it really fun. It's clean (they have a no-shoes rule in the changing rooms and pool area, which UK pools would be well advised to adopt) and has a nice shallow paddling pool for toddlers, as well as an enjoyable slide (barely any queueing)... The Lakes are quite impressive (manmade and used for water and energy provision) A number of different facilities and tourist events can be accessed at the different sites, including the "Red Crocodile" ( an amphibious vehicle offering tours around the lake for 15 euros) a tourist /education centre and an Aqua Centre (which is basically a water park) The water... This is a pleasant place for sports: water sports like windsurfing, water skiing, sailing, diving but also biking around the lake, hiking. Nice staying and restaurant opportunities.

We went just to walk, fortunately, because we couldn't get any parking near the visitors complex. It was too jam packed with people because it was a special "jour ferie" (vacation day for the country of Belgium) The scenery is very beautiful, though and we enjoyed walking one of the trails.

We spent 4 nights in resort with 3 children. Very clean grounds, stunning lake, spotless accomodation, very helpful staff. Children loved the aquapark, we enjoyed cycling around lake. Canoes were fun as was crazy golf. Bit disappointed with food facilities. No shop within walking distance. Cafe or food outlets close early if open at all. Had a very hungry night... More
