We scheduled our tour with Reggae Tours and were taken to a peaceful retreat. Upon arrival, my husband and I were given bottles of sugar water and shown how to hold our fingers to allow the birds to come to us. After a few minutes, the first hummingbird came and sat on my finger and drank from the bottle. I... More

This is a great place to see the Red-billed Streamertail (a hummingbird with a very long tail very close. Another that you will get a fantastic view of is the Orangequit (an all blue bird with an orange throat. Both of these are endemic to Jamaica. You will also see many Bananaquits, Caribbean Doves, maybe a White-chinned Thrush (another endemic),... More

We loved being so close to birds. The Doctor hummingbird visited us and sat on our finger while eating. Also, other birds sat on our knees and ate food. It was an amazing experience. Would have really enjoyed a walk through the sanctuary where we could take more pictures of the surroundings. More

It truly was an amazing experience and we have beautiful photos of hummingbirds eating from our hands. Lindsay McFarlane (private driver/tour guide) brought us up the mountainside through the rain forest just 20 minutes from MoBay to a quaint little home where we sat on their back porch holding small bottles of sugar water. Within minutes the hummingbirds started to... More

I've visited the sanctuary more than once so, in my case, I have to say I was a little disappointed on my last visit. This is a unique experience, feeding the hummingbirds, but the original owner has now passed away and Fritz doesn't come across as very motivated, continuing the tradition. The price has gone up considerably, $20.00 to sit... More

this place is out of the way, and was not crowded at all when we were there - only 2 other couples besides the three of us - and it was so quiet. We were staying at a resort in Montego Bay and hired a taxi to take us - Dudley from Juto Service - and he was awesome. I... More

Read about this attration in a tour book and since I am a "bird watcher" made it a must stop on our trip to Jamaica. We were staying in Montego Bay and rented a driver to take us there - Andy from Juto (?) Tours, who took very good care of us. Don't think we could have found it on... More

If you are a bird lover this place is a must. Even if you aren't it's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Jamaica and the variety of birds there is remarkable. You can feed hummingbirds right out of your hands... Very cool experience. More

From my first visit in 1972, it was a dim memory...but it's very much the same. the birds are enchanting, the host very kind and informative and the grounds are lovely. A bird watcher's MUST! More

All I can say is, I will likely never again in my life have a wild hummingbird of any sort sit on my finger, let alone a red-billed streamertail, which is a stupendous bird. If you like birds, you must do this!!!!!!! We were driven to this resort by Graham, a very able taxi-driver, from the Sandals MoBay. The hotel... More
