This beach is the best beach on the Big Island. The water is clear, the facilities are clean and the sand is perfect. Pack up and spend the day at the beach by boogie boarding, playing in the sand, or snorkeling.

Excellent beach about a half hour from Kona. $5.00 fee is worth the price of admission for a clean beach, relatively secure parking lot and fresh water showers with change room. Nice place to visit on your last day with a chance to clean up before your evening flight back to reality.

There's so many nice beaches and places to try snorkeling, you wonder which to visit.... This beach is one to try to get to if your schedule permits, as the snorkeling was quite good.

Nice beach, good surf, lots of sand. Only thing is that there is not much shade. Swimming and buggy boarding is excellent (depending on the surf). A bit crowded at times.

The views were awesome, on a good day you can see the Island of Maui, and Mauna Kea. The beach is one of the best on the island, great waves to boogie board or body surf. On a calm day you can even snorkel along the rocks.

Great Beach, Sand and Lifeguards plus fair snorkeling from shore. Sandy beach with few rocks. The rocks in the ocean mark the two nice areas to snorkel. The beach also has bathrooms. We went here three times. Small fee to enter.

Big, clean, white sand and blue water. The surf is strong here and you need to be aware while in the water. Good area for snorkeling with a lot of fish species. No shade here so take you SPF juice. There are facilities and showers for rinsing. Will definitely go back on next visit.

Far too crowded and a tourist spot, just like many of the beaches. Bleh. I had my sights set on some of the local taste and was overloaded with visitors. Tell me when it's a slow time of year and I will return

I have been to a few beaches here on the Big Island and Hapuna Beach was the one that most looks like I expect a beach to look. Very wide with some people throwing frisbee and some just relaxing on the sand. There are parts in the water with some rocks that fish hang around if you want to do... More

This is an excellent beach for swimming, boogie boarding, relaxing, and catching a few rays. The sand is very smooth and easy on the feet, unlike other beaches in the area. Snorkeling is okay, especially near the rocky parts. There is a small cove on the south part of the beach which is a neat place to stand and watch... More
