A must stop for anyone driving around the coast of Maui. The sand here is amazing as are the sunsets. There is no official hotel nearby as this is a public beach, but I saw guests from the hotel North of here bringing drinks/towels to relax. No doubt this stretch of beach is nicer than most hotels in the area.... More

While in Kona we searched for a peaceful sandy beach but could not find one. We decided to venture north to Hapuna Beach and very happy we did. It was a great outing with friends. /the beach was sandy with fine grain white sand. The waves were subtle and relaxing. Water was clear for good Snorkeling visibility. Plenty of parking.... More

I stopped at this beach to kill the few hours between checking out of the Kings Land and checking into the Hilton Waikoloa. It cost $5 to park, which was fine. There are decent bathrooms and showers at the edge of the beach to rinse off onesself and one's equipment. There are shaded picnic tables in several places. The beach... More

I was told that the Big Island was not known for white sandy beaches, so when I came across Hapuna Beach, I had the biggest smile on my face. I love this beach. The water was clear, sand was white and soft and the beach was clean! The beach wasn't overcrowded either, parking and entrance was easy. $5 to park.... More

The day we went, the waves were perfect for boogie boarding. Pretty big waves so be a bit careful. Lots of people turned their backs to the waves and ended up eating a lot of sand as well as losing their sunglass. Bring a sun umbrella. Good parking, showers and bathrooms. $5 to park but well worth it since the... More

This is a very beautiful beach with clear waters with soft, shallow sandy bottom. The water is warm and great for swimming and body boarding. There are picnic areas, but the beach area near the water has very little shaded areas. It is also a bit of walk from the parking lot to the actual beach.

Fully recommend this place. Lovely white sand, good areas of shade by the rocks. Nice clear warm and safe swimming. You are supposed to pay $5 to park however we did not have to.

White sand, warm sun and clear blue water. We loved this beach. It has a great sandy bottom that slopes gently down into the ocean. It also has rocks that provide snorkeling. It is a state park and costs to enter but it was worth it. We were there on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. It... More
