“Looks good from the outside, nothing really inside.”

Vermillion bay is a small town on the highway, fort is right along side the highway. Looks good from the highway, but when you get inside there is not much too it.

It's unfortunate you were disappointed with your visit in Nov. Based on the date of your posting, I believe we were closed at the time of your visit. The Fort habitually opens May long weekend and closes for the season Sep. long weekend. Therefore when you stopped in@ the Fort in Oct. or Nov...You are absolutly right, there was little... More

“Great place to stop when traveling with kids”

We stop here often when traveling between Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. The service is friendly, the ice cream and coffee are excellent, the kids love the playground, and the hiking trail is very nice.

“A little gem in the middle of nowhere”

What a great place this is! A beautiful enclosed playground, eating and seating area, a great 2 km trail (with 2 great caches for geocaching amateurs), a beautiful café with Wifi Internet, good ice cream, delicious baked good (they even had gluten-free brownies!) and great coffee.
